Responsibilities

As a Cisco Network Engineer, you will serve as a point of escalation for all network-related issues for one of our major clients in a team environment. You will identify and implement industry best practices and research current and future industry technology. This is a 3-year contract opportunity located onsite in Chicago, IL.

Qualifications

• Eight years of Cisco experience managing medium to large data centers and multi-site environments
• Experience with Nexus switches in medium or large size data centers
• Experience with Cisco ASA Security, site-to-site VPN (IPSEC), and Cisco DNA Center
• Experience configuring/modifying Cisco networking equipment (routers, switches, etc.)
• Experience interconnecting with networking technologies including HP blade enclosures, VMware/vSphere, F5 application delivery controllers
• Experience with Meraki wireless network including: implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Experience with Cisco DNA Center, SolarWinds and PRTG preferred
• Experience with VeloCloud SD-WAN technology
• Advanced knowledge of layer 2/3 concepts and designs
• CCNA required, CCNP preferred
• Ability to easily communicate with all levels of personnel and management
• Ability to self-direct, prioritize work assignments, etc.
• Ability to create/update network documentation
• The candidate must have a car, as this position requires travel between location and the transportation of equipment
• A valid driver’s license and proof of vehicle insurance will be required
• Legally authorized to work in the US without sponsorship
• Must demonstrate a “can-do” attitude
