Position Description

The Maintenance Associate will perform maintenance, upkeep and installation of various systems and equipment at the direction of the Operations Manager and General Manager.

Responsibilities

The duties of this position may include:

  • Troubleshooting and repairing automated processing/packing equipment
  • Practicing preventive and predictive maintenance techniques
  • Welding of a quality for food-grade applications
  • Responding to trouble calls and emergency conditions as requested
  • Compliance with all Company, HI-OSHA, FDA, GMP and other compliance requirements for a food packing/processing facility
  • Installing and setting up equipment (drives, flow sensors etc.) using vendors manuals and specifications
  • Replacing automated equipment mechanical components.
  • Rebuilding gearboxes, power drives, centrifugal pumps and replace mechanical shaft seal
  • Running and bending electrical conduit
  • Performing electrical testing
  • Installing an electrical run from an electrical power panel to the end user point (up to 480 Volts)[An installation is defined by designing the circuit, creating the schematic, ordering parts and completing the hardware installation]
  • Troubleshooting systems up to 480 volts with complicated electrical controls and wire 3-phase motors

Requirements

  • Knowledge and safe practices in the following areas: Lock-Out/Tag-Out, Shop Tool Safety, Fall Protections, PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), Confined Space & Electrical Safety
  • Experience in Plumbing, Mechanic, Electrical, Pneumatic, and Fabrication/Welding or an acceptable combination
  • Be able to understand and practice preventive and predictive maintenance techniques
  • Proficient in the use of standard hand tools such as wrenches, hammers, bearing pullers etc.
  • Proficient in the use of simple power tools such as drills, grinders, cut –off saws, impact wrenches, etc.
  • Have working knowledge of electrical testing equipment, such as multimeter

Other Requirements - Required

  • Clean Driver’s Abstract and Class 3 Driver’s license (Can be obtained after hire)
  • Forklift Certification (Must be current or obtained within three months of hire)
  • Ability to obtain all licenses/certifications associated with assigned equipment
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to work in an environment exposed to elements such as UV and heat
