JOB DESCRIPTION:

SeneGence has embarked on a major Digital Transformation initiative intended to significantly modernize our customers’ experience of our products and services, both at the Distributor and Consumer levels. Strategically planned initiatives will upgrade our capabilities in Content, Commerce, CRM, Marketing Automation, and other frontiers, while also making major advancements in our leverage of business data through the implementation of a data lake and business analytics program. Beyond this, advancements across our back-office systems and infrastructure are envisioned.

The Digital Solutions Department is seeking an experienced Product Owner (PO) to be a member of the Agile Team responsible for defining Stories and prioritizing the Team Backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities. The PO has a significant role in maximizing the value produced by the team and ensuring Stories meet the Business Owner’s needs and comply with the Definition of Done. This role has significant relationships and responsibilities outside the scrum team, including working with Product Management, Business Owners, and other stakeholders. 

Responsibilities

  • Set expectations with business stakeholders for delivery of new capabilities, features, and functionalities.
  • Work closely with product management/business teams to create and maintain a product backlog according to business value
  • Maintain and prioritize the scrum team backlog and define features and user stories as per priority, and work closely with the team during the Program Execution to track the flow, maintain priorities and agree if the accepted stories meet the Definition of Done.
  • Connect with other Product Owners within the Agile Release Train (ART) to check and coordinate dependencies and work across teams to see how best to improve processes and increase team velocity and quality.
  • Preparation and Participation in PI Planning - heavily involved in program backlog refinement and Program Increment (PI) planning. The PO updates the team backlog and typically reviews and contributes to the program vision, roadmap, and content presentations. The PO is also involved with story definition and providing the clarifications necessary to assist the team with their story estimates and sequencing. Working with the entire Agile team, will determine their team PI objectives.
  • Participate in sprint planning to determine the team's objectives for the upcoming sprint.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies such as daily stand ups, grooming, and team retrospectives; ensure the team has a clear understanding of priorities and next steps.
  • Lead the sprint review meeting to present the output from the sprint to the key stakeholders.
  • Analyze feedback from sprint reviews, and other data such as end user feedback and operational metrics, to identify and understand product needs.
  • Work with development teams to create acceptance criteria
  • Assist the team on the development of feature tests, test cases, and regression tests.
  • Actively mitigate roadblocks impacting successful team completion of release/sprint goals
  • Serve as the product ambassador internally and externally, sharing knowledge and answering questions related to the product

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • SAFe PO certification required
  • The Product Owner needs to have significant experience in working in an Agile environment and able to dissect features into clearly defined stories.
  • A talent for multi-tasking, meeting deadlines, learning new skills and methodologies, and working under pressure in fast paced environment.
  • Excellent ability to communicate effectively across the organization.
  • Collaborative working style with the ability to flex with many different types of working styles
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5 years of experience as Product Owner
  • Experience writing user stories and vertically slicing features
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse groups, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • In-depth knowledge of agile process and principles
  • Understanding of business value around feature/functions
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Able to effectively manage conflicting stakeholder needs
