Seneca Family of Agencies is Hiring a Clinical Supervisor Near Oakland, CA

Overview

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Do you have a passion for supporting the mental health needs of BIPOC youth? So do we, and we’re hiring a like-minded Clinical Supervisor to lead one of our close-knit school teams. 

Seneca’s Maya Angelou Academy (MAA) is looking for a Clinical Supervisor who’s dedicated to overseeing the mental health, case management, and consultation services to grades K-5 students at their Oakland campus. As the Clinical Supervisor, you’ll manage MAA’s talented mental health team by modeling fidelity to program outcomes, coordinating referrals, ensuring the quality of clinical charting, administrating therapeutic and case management services, and mentoring direct-care supervisees. Above all, MAA’s Clinical Supervisor grows in expertise around clinical issues in the classroom and collaborates with the school staff to implement evidence-based and creative ways to foster a therapeutic milieu that promotes culturally responsive services to students and their families.

ABOUT SENECA 

Seneca’s Maya Angelou Academy is a nonpublic school in Oakland, CA that provides special education services to students grades K-5 with a variety of emotional, behavioral, or social needs. MAA provides individualized attention and direct instruction in core areas in order to help our students make adequate yearly progress on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals while adhering to a general education standards-based curriculum. The goal of our specialized services is to address the behavioral, emotional, and developmental challenges of each student to prepare them for a less restrictive educational setting. Responsibilities

  • Mentor clinicians and interns weekly in clinical consultation, oversight, and training
  • Ensure that adequate supervision around the improvement of job performance is provided in a supportive, constructive manner
  • Lead staff in creating a positive work environment that adheres to the values of the agency
  • Guide staff in developing creative and evidence-based interventions for youth, which promote Seneca’s mission of Unconditional Care 
  • Plan treatments, such as assisting with Utilization Review, ensuring psychiatric and other consultation is used appropriately, ensuring that treatment plans are reviewed in a timely and appropriate manner, and ensuring that foster families are engaged in the treatment program of their child
  • Coordinate consultation with therapists and direct service staff, including psychiatric, family & individual treatment, and behavior modification needs
  • Coordinate with the Seneca psychiatrist and provide support and resources to them as needed for the care of the clients in the program

Qualifications

REQUIRED 

  • LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC licensure 
  • At least two years of post-licensure experience and five years of in-field experience
  • At least five years of experience working in the mental health field with children and their families 
  • Ability to train clinicians in assessments, hypothesis-building, diagnosis, and treatment 
  • Familiarity with behavior modification and crisis intervention techniques 
  • TB test clearance, fingerprints, and any other mandatory State/Federal licensing or certification requirements
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination and booster 

PREFERRED 

  • Demonstrated success in designing and implementing therapeutic programs

Schedule

  • Full-time 
  • School-based schedule

Benefits

  • Starting at $78,100-$92,100 per year, with actual salary dependent on creditable experience above the minimum qualifications for the role
