A day in the life of our Content Manager

This is an unrivaled opportunity to help build and establish a loved brand in becoming the largest SMB eCommerce courier in the world. This position requires a balance of creative ability, writing, marketing, design, analytics and execution. You are able to balance the nuances of small business writing and content creation with the heart of a customer centric brand. You will have a perfect command of brand and B2B writing. You create content that is able to convey important technical information with persuasive, human and emotive storytelling, making you a true champion of the Sendle brand voice.

  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Design, Product/UX, Sales, Partnerships to develop a content strategy and content plan that supports our brand, product, and company objectives in the U.S. and Canada.
  • Develop content tailored to specific online channels, understanding how different narratives can be brought to life on different platforms.
  • Write both eCommerce focused and consumer-focused comms. 
  • Develop aspirational customer stories that can be shared through various channels. 
  • Collaborate with a content production team to create engaging content across owned channels, including website, landing pages, blog, email, as well as paid and partner channels.
  • Work with your Australian counterpart to maintain the singular voice for a cohesive set of global content and share learnings. Collaborate to maintain a content calendar and scheduling throughout the year.
  • Manage freelance writers to help produce content according to your briefs.
  • Own content metrics and monitor campaign performance, test variations and help us tailor our strategy based on results.
  • Liaise with SEO team to apply SEO methodologies, keyword research, and support SEO-specific KPIs; provide guidance to SEO team to help them apply brand and TOV principles.

You have

  • You have a degree in communications or a related field (journalism, marketing, public relations), or applicable experience. 
  • You’ll be passionate about writing, and excited to show your experience in content planning, editorial, design, and writing skills.
  • You’ve worked with UX and product teams and have an understanding of the customer lifecycle and all touchpoints.
  • You’ll need to enjoy technology to be proficient in - or a quick learner of - tools like Hubspot, Slack, Trello, Miro, and eCommerce platforms.
  • You’ll thrive in a fast-paced, changeable environment. You’ll enjoy a minimum viable process (and sometimes have to build a process), and will look for ways to improve, save time and do things smarter.
  • You have an eye for good design, detail, and are a bit of a stickler for spelling and grammar.
  • You are comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and iterating to a solution when there is no clear path or answer.
  • While this role is supporting our North American business, you will need to work with a global, virtual team, which requires a lot of asynchronous work, and occasionally some late meetings.
