Sellars Absorbent Materials is Hiring a Quality Control Technician Near Milwaukee, WI

Do you have a passion for Quality? We are hiring a QA/QC Technician to join our growing team! This role is primarily responsible for executing the job functions as they relate to Testing, Quality Control, and Quality Assurance.
How you contribute as a team member:
  • Completes all duties in a safe manner, follows all safety rules and policies.
  • Performs physical property testing on wipers, towel and tissue, and other sorbent materials using specialized testing equipment.
  • Performs in-process inspection and auditing as required.
  • Performs audits to ensure and or assess compliance with QC Systems and Programs as required.
  • Leads inspection of non-conforming material and submits results to management for disposition.
  • Inputs production inspection data into computer databases.
  • Assists in the development and creation of quality workmanship standards.
  • Trains manufacturing personnel in quality control procedures. Works with and coaches manufacturing personnel to understand and satisfy workmanship standards.
  • Organizes and executes testing projects for R&D, and, Sales and Marketing.
  • Prepares and distributes reports on test results.
  • Validates laboratory equipment accuracy weekly using calibration standards (weights, gage blocks, etc).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory testing area at 60th Street.
  • May assist other departments in various tasks as required.
Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Organized and detail oriented.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage time and multi-task.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible in work assignments and work routines.
  • Familiar with and proficient in standard testing protocols.
  • Able to follow instructions accurately and without deviation.
  • Ability to maintain clear, accurate, and detailed records.
  • Proficient in MS-Excel, creating databases and reports.
  • Ability to problem solve (identify problem, define root cause, develop alternative solutions and select and implement most effective solution) is preferred.
  • Positive work attitude.
Language and Teamwork Required
  • Good communication (written and verbal) skills.
  • Able to lead team meetings to present, discuss, or train others on QA/QC topics and issues.
  • Good interpersonal and teamwork skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate courtesy and respect in dealing with all members and levels within the Organization.
  • Ability to seek out, listen and value input from all levels in the Organization.
  • Good coaching skills with the capacity to deal with issues in a positive but complete manner.
Education and Experience Required
  • Minimum 1-year quality testing experience (preferably in a lab setting).
  • Minimum 1-year quality control/inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience working in the printing, paper production or paper converting industries is preferred.
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent.
