Description

Under the direction of the Jr. Art Director, the Graphics Designer designs and produces high quality artwork and communication materials for all departments of the company and private labels as needed in the desired time frame, in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.

• Partner with multiple internal clients to determine needs and showcase their service offerings to customers.
• Conceptualize, design, layout, and produce digital and print designs, displays, and promotional material. Develop graphics and layouts for logos, website, products, collateral, sales support, advertising, tradeshow, and public relations.
• Ensure high quality, professional designs. Design detailed or technical illustrations, charts, graphs, animations (as needed) using computer software.
• Provide photography and video services and operate related equipment. (Experience preferred but some training can be provided.)
• Maintain technical competency by researching new technology and changes in the industry.
• Interact with vendors to ensure best prices and quality, and effectively resolve problems.
• Ability to handle prepress tasks and prepare final art for delivery to printer within necessary specifications.
• Review proofs and final layouts to ensure quality output.
• Estimate costs of different production methods to determine the most economical method for individual projects.
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, and files.
• Complete special projects as assigned.
• Follow and comply with all safety, work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards, such as keeping a tidy workspace and assisting in the office upkeep as needed.
• Ability to build prepackaging prototypes, display material, and presentations as needed.

Education and/or Experience

Requires a bachelor’s degree in a job related major and three to five years related experience; or a combination of education and experience; packaging design knowledge preferred.

Computer Skills

Proficiency in Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator are required. Premier, After Effects, and Audition are preferred but not required. Experience using graphics and photo imaging, video creation and editing, and web platform development, as well as MS PowerPoint to create company presentations and Board decks.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret instructions, communicate information and ideas in writing and verbally using correct grammar and rules of composition, listen and understand information and ideas presented in written and spoken forms. Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and employees of the organization.
