Secured Alliance, Inc. is Hiring a Chief Financial Officer Near Phoenix, AZ

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) shall report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) at Secured Alliance, Inc. (SAI), and shall be responsible for overseeing a team of professionals that supports the business operations of SAI and its affiliate organizations. The CFO will oversee the financial implementation of the strategic plan and will consult with the Executive Team to drive strategic goals and benchmarks across the family of organizations.

As an integral member of the C-Suite, the CFO will be a resident of Arizona, or willing to move to Arizona to take up residency within 90 days of starting. The CFO will be issued a contract which will specify the terms of employment. At SAI, the CFO is responsible for the overall business strategy and performance of the organization. The CFO will impact all areas of the organization, including operations, HR, and technology, and must have demonstrated a high level of skill in leadership, management, strategy development and implementation, and business acumen.

 I. Human Resources and Personnel Oversight

  • The CFO or designee is SAI’s primary point of contact with key contractors including the payroll and human resources administrator, insurance brokers, auditors, accountants, and others. The CFO will build strong rapport with his/her counterpart at these agencies and facilitate smooth engagements on behalf of the employees of SAI.
  • Responsible for the hiring, training, and development of the Accounting & Finance personnel.
  • Responsible for personnel and resource allocation to varying tasks, objectives, and goals.
  • Responsible for addressing employee concerns and conflicts in a timely, objective, and transparent manner, in consultation with the HR administrator and counsel, as applicable.
  • Responsible for approving Paid Time Off and engaging employees on payroll issues.
  • Responsible for shift allocation to assure all 4 United States time zones are adequately supported.
  • Responsible for the discipline and corrective protocols among the Accounting & Finance staff.

II. Financial Quality Control

  • Responsible for systematizing financial oversights and supports so the company operates in a risk-averse manner, ensuring full integrity and quality control of the public trust.
  • Responsible for working with other divisions within the Alliance to address and correct day-to-day business challenges, concerns, or mistakes related to the inter-departmental and inter-organizational financial paradigm.
  • Responsible for meeting the quality standards as requisitioned by the C-Suite and/or Vice Presidents of the organization(s).
  • Responsible for the implementation of a risk-averse operational system that complies with GAAP and other generally accepted principles of accounting and finance.
  • Responsible for effectively communicating laterally among the C-Suite and vertically with both the VP’s (below) and the Board of Directors (above), and principally the Treasurer of the Secured Alliance Board.
  • Responsible for reporting financial outcomes to the CEO and Board of Directors in a periodic basis consistent with GAAP.

III. Financial Analysis

  • The Alliance continues to grow through Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and the establishment of Strategic Partnerships. As M&A opportunities arise, the CFO work in tandem with the COO to analyze the opportunity by:
    • Reviewing the target’s audited and unaudited financials
    • Reviewing/building pro-forma based on the target’s financial history.
    • Looking at the target’s business practices and assessing its financial health
    • Assessing the target’s reputation and market position within the industry/geography
    • Analyzing the target’s financial impact on the Alliance
  • Operate as a primary point of contact with 3rd party accountants and business valuation professionals as needed.
  • Seek to identify M&A opportunities among professional contacts made at trade shows, events, or other networking opportunities.

IV. Strategic Plan Implementation

  • Responsible or implementing the strategic plan in tandem with the CEO, COO and Vice Presidents of the organization.
  • Responsible for monitoring team capacities in plan implementation and for participating in relevant meetings as they arise.
  • Responsible for reporting outcomes and key performance indicators on a periodic basis

V. BI and Operational Support

  • Business Intelligence (BI) is a new division at the Alliance, and the working plan is for the CFO to ultimately oversee this department in time. BI supports the qualitative and quantitative analysis of data across all divisions of SAI to aid management decision making.
  • Oversee the analysis of BI data in support of operational priorities.
  • Be willing to serve as Chair or as a member of the Investment/Finance committee as appointed by the Board to oversee our Assets Under Management.
  • Work cross-departmentally to assess AUM health, growth, and connect AUM-based revenues to the health and sustainability of the organization.
  • Support operational tasks and objectives as required by the COO and CEO.

Requirements:

  • Master’s in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related, or;
    • No less than 10 years’ experience as a CFO with active ACCA credential. 
  • Must work out of the Phoenix Headquarters and be a resident of Arizona (willing to move to AZ).
  • Possess excellent executive skills, including critical and strategic thinking, adaptive thinking, time management, organization, self-control and strategic planning skills.
  • Possess strong interpersonal leadership skills.
  • Possess a high degree of emotional intelligence (EQ) to drive outcomes.
  • Be competent, driven, and technically astute.

Preferred Experience:

  • Non-Profit Organizations.
  • Mergers & Acquisition.
  • Estate planning, financial planning, or related.
  • Tort or class-action legal matters helpful.
  • Law firms, accounting firms, or related is helpful.
