We are looking for an experienced Editorial Content Managerto join the Marketing & Communications (MarComm) team. This is a full-time, year-round staff position with in-person (on campus) responsibilities. We are excited to find an individual who is a great storyteller, a sharp copy editor, and a collaborative teammate. This role will require a strong level of passion for communicating the mission and work of the school to parents, guardian, students, faculty, staff, donors, alumni and the public.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Writing, Editing & Communications Support

• Help us tell the incredible stories from Seattle Academy! Write, edit, and assist with content for our online/email communications, in addition to social media, print publications, and internal communications for the school community.
• Curate content!Coordinate with internal stakeholders i.e. faculty, staff to gather, edit and curate content for stories, social media posts, articles and more!
• Collaborate with our energetic Marketing & Communications team! Assist with implementing the content marketing strategy to promote all aspects of the school. Support and/or attend school and community events (set up, logistics, check-in, etc.) as a member of the MarComm Team.
• Love a style guide? Update and oversee the ongoing use of an all-school style guide for visual and written communication in partnership with MarComm Team (we love a good style too!).
• Lend your voice! Support Admissions and Development teams for written materials (i.e. view book, Open House handouts, Annual Report, etc.); support and assist with critical messaging and communications needs for the Head of School and Senior Leadership.
• Willingness to assume additional responsibilities as required.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:

• an excellent storyteller, who writes clearly and engages effectively with diverse groups of
• stakeholders
• a strong editor, and know-how to efficiently manage multiple, simultaneous priorities;
• expertise with style guidelines and grammar
• skilled in copy editing and proofreading and produce writing of consistent quality—clear,
• concise content with a human voice
• ability to self-start, meet deadlines, and drive projects forward while being open and
• comfortable with iteration and feedback
• attention to detail– you take pride in delivering outstanding work
• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, writing/composition, business, or
• equivalent experience
• ability to work nights and weekends for internal events and select external events
