Our client is a food services company that provides wholesale distribution, retail, foodservice sales, and third-party logistics services of premier protein products. The company was founded in the late 1970’s and has been family owned since.

Job Description:

System Engineer II will be responsible for working with the business unit to ensure that all developed solutions are stable and secure. This role also serves as 2nd tier/on-site support for our manufacturing systems. Strong analytical, collaboration, critical thinking skills as well as technical aptitude are needed to be successful in this role.

The candidate needs to be experienced with Python and SQL languages, Django and utilizing web services/API’s for system integration with AWS cloud environments. Having experience in the following systems would be preferred: ERP (Infor M3), Warehouse Management (Blue Yonder/JDA/Red Prairie), Manufacturing (Ignition), Transportation (Omnitracs/Descartes Aljex). All of this while respecting associates, customers, consumers, and the communities that the client serves.

• Project Management- planning, managing and leading projects
• Analysis - Analyze business requirements, collaborate with IT, vendors, and business partners to recommend option.
• Design/Scripting/Configuration/Code- build/configure solutions based on requirements provided. Follows secure coding practices
• Testing- Ensure the solution meets business needs, is stable, scalable, and secure. Ensure that the change does not impact any existing functionality
• Documentation/Training– provide documentation for business teams to utilize solution and support teams to be able to own support of the solution.
• Support - Escalation point for business users when they are unable to resolve an issue.
• Cross-Functional Responsibility: Build strong relationships and communication with all business partners, vendors, and IT teams.

Position Requirements:

• 3-5 years of SCADA platforms such as Ignition, iFix, Wonderware, etc. (Ignition preferred)
• 3-5 years of development experience with Python
• 3-5 years of database design in Microsoft SQL Server 2012 or later including coding of stored procedures.

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience with ERP/WMS a plus
• Experience with printers, controllers / HMIs, and PLC in a manufacturing environment a plus.
• Utilization of web service APIs for systems integration
• Associates or better in Computer Science or related fields.
