Summary
Produces machined parts by setting up and operating a cut-to-length line machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies, and other duties may be assigned from time to time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Plans by studying work orders, engineering plans, materials, specifications, locations of surfaces, and parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances.
o Verifies material stock before loading on the laser table
o Loads/unloads material stock on a laser table using a forklift or by hand, depending on the material
o Package material for shipping
o Download programs for parts burning.
o Utilize proper tips, torch spacing, fuel setting, and material utilization
o Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces; adhering to standards.
o Maintains specifications by observing, and cutting, including; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
o Occasionally communicates with a supervisor or team lead and/or programmers regarding laser procedure
o Process and clean parts after the material is cut, using hand tools or power tools
o Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
o Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
o Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
o Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
o Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
o Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Education and Experience
Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year College or technical school, 4 plus years related experience and./or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
