Seaport Hotel is Hiring a Junior Systems Administrator Near Boston, MA

Scope of PositionThe task of the IT Administrator is to ensure that the IT support team provides complete assistance to various departments. Your proactive attitude, problem solving skills, ability to handle multiple priorities and flexible nature contribute to allowing us to successfully adapt to changing business demands and priorities. This position reports to the Director of IT and works regularly with the Manager of Telecommunications to ensure the department operates efficiently. Schedule RequirementsThe operation is 24 hours a day 7 days a week, inclusive of all holidays. While the company will make every attempt to create a work and life balance, all exempt team members may be required to work extended shifts and additional days based on business demands. The role also requires scheduled and unscheduled on-call support including a weekly on-call rotation shared with the Technology team.Key ResponsibilitiesExperience with desktop, laptop, and mobile device hardwareEmail Administration and user management including configuring new accounts, password resets, and troubleshooting user login, profile, and permission issuesBasic virtualization Administration and architecture knowledge such as rebooting virtual machines, allocating necessary resources, and maintaining the hypervisorExperience with Azure ADExperience with Active Directory functionalities, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP, Azure ADWorking experience and knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systemsKnowledge of Backup SolutionsBasic knowledge of troubleshooting Remote Desktop Services and VPNBasic understanding of core network componentsMaintain standards and documentation on an ongoing basis as products, services and technologies evolveResponding to user requests and maintaining policies.Minimum ExperienceMinimum 2 years of IT experience with IT administration and support experience with windows administration and management of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group policyPrevious Experience in a fast-paced consulting or MSP environment will be considered a plusHelpdesk experience with resolving and escalating issues as neededEducation and CertificationsBachelor’s degree desiredDesired certifications: CompTIA A or higher Required Job Knowledge and SkillsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsAble to work in a team-based environmentAbility to be a self-starter and possess good time management skillsShould be able to complete tasks independently Language SkillsFluency of the English language is required (read, write, speak)Must be able to listen to, read and/or write instructions, memos, short correspondences, and messages.This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the person occupying this position.
