Job Description

It takes a lot of parts and pieces to create a gravity-defying product! As our Supply Planning Manager, you’ll be our gatekeeper, ensuring our ability to produce by planning and guiding our supply base and exceeding our customers’ expectations, making sure they have what they need when they need it. You will make an immediate impact on our operations through nurturing and leveraging existing relationships to guarantee continuity at the best overall value by doing the following:

  • Providing leadership, guidance, and mentoring to the buying team to fulfill Seakeeper’s mission to be a company that vendors want to partner with
  • Working with the buying team, managing all inbound inventory and non-inventory components by tracking order acknowledgments, proactively following up with delayed shipments, and communicating failures for written purchase orders
  • Optimizing working capital by ensuring schedules are adjusted to meet build schedules and inventory targets
  • Proactively identifying and reporting shortage risks
  • Analyzing and understanding the impact of new product introductions and ECNs on planning processes and systems
  • Collaborating with sourcing and suppliers and identifying areas of concern or risk
  • Identify opportunities for value improvement
  • Working directly with suppliers on planning processes, process improvement & schedule adherence initiatives
  • Tracking supply partner performance for on-time delivery
  • Reviewing, refreshing, and establishing our best practices in procurement
  • Utilizing current systems along with developed add-on packages to improve process flow, tracking, and execution of procure-to-pay, and maintain partner data integrity
  • Collaborating with the production team to align schedules based on customer and inventory requirement strategies
  • Optimizing freight and leveraging volume to maximize value

Do you have a positive attitude, an eagerness to learn, and the ability to hustle in a fast-paced environment? Then Seakeeper is the place for you! Here are a few other things you’ll need to succeed.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5-10 years of experience in procurement and supply chain management
  • Ferocious attention to detail and “won’t take no for an answer” attitude
  • Passion for working with people and getting a good deal
  • Be professional, responsive, resourceful, flexible and well-organized
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Be self-motivated with superior time management, multitasking, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Strong command of Microsoft Office products
  • Be results driven and of unquestionable integrity

  • Purchasing experience in machining, forging, and/or casting
  • Six sigma or lean manufacturing certifications
  • Experience working with NetSuite

  • You’ll be based in Leesport, PA facility full-time
  • You’ll report to the Director of Operations, also based in Leesport
  • You will have three direct reports, with an opportunity to grow the team in the future
  • You’ll regularly work with the finance and leadership teams, reporting cash flow estimates and giving other updates
  • Travel up to 15% of the time mostly visiting our supply partners
  • On-the-job training will be provided (we will help you become the Seakeeper expert!)

Our Supply Chain team is nestled within our operations department. It is a small, but mighty team that keeps the manufacturing engine of Seakeeper running. With cross-department collaboration and interaction with external partners, you’ll gain knowledge across the various areas of company, so you’ll be able to own your role and bring new ideas to the table to improve processes and results.

It’s true that we make extraordinary products, but our favorite part about Seakeeper is our people! We believe in participative leadership. That means you have the freedom to make a difference and contribute to the larger goal, regardless of your position. Great ideas can strike at any moment, and when you have one, you’re empowered to speak up!

We are constantly pushing (or crushing) boundaries. Stagnant or bored are about as opposite from Seakeeper as you can get! We move quick and if there is something that can be improved upon, we jump on it.

71% of our Earth is covered by water and we want everyone to make the most of it. That’s why we are committed to creating products that transform the boating experience with an organization that employees want to work for, customers want to buy from, and vendors want to partner with. Our gyro stabilizers eliminate boat roll and create a land-like experience on the water. We defy gravity and completely change the way people spend time on the water.

We started the company 12 years ago, and now 50% of the boats built annually in our core market are Seakeeper equipped. With our recent introduction of smaller units that are ideal for boats as small as 23 feet, there is a long road of growth ahead!

Ready for a new challenge in a fast-paced environment? Want to help us disrupt an industry? Come on and apply, we are ready for you!
