Seagate Hotel and Spa is Hiring a Junior Staff Accountant Near Delray Beach, FL

Staff Accountants prepare and review financial documents, reports, and statements. They oversee all accounting procedures (e.g. tax returns, month-end closures, budgeting) and advise on general financial matters.

• Coordinate all on-site accounting functions with the Accounting Manager
• Act as a point of contact for property/department accounting requests.
• Work closely with all departments to develop solutions to Systems & Control problems.
• Responsible for maintenance of all daily filing of documents needed for research
• Verify daily balancing of Income Journal to Daily Report.
•  Verify balancing of sales tax to revenue familiarization with state sales tax laws and tax-exempt status reporting.
• Complete all general ledger and bank reconciliation.
• Prepare inter-company reconciliation.
• Ensure a timely month-end close.
• Prepare Balance Sheet analysis.
• Treasury and credit card reconciliation was completed correctly and timely.
• Special projects and assignments, as directed by the Accounting Manager.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred
• 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience required
• Experience with the month-end closing process
• Strong excel skills required
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics ERP a plus
• Good verbal/written communication skills
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Knowledge of Opera &/or Jonas is a plus
