Description

The Staff Accountant will support the Finance function directly to ensure financial resources are recorded and reported accurately to meet the needs of the organization. This position reports directly to the CFO and will also work closely with cross-functional areas and is an essential part of delivering an exceptional experience to our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Create general ledger journal entries and adjustments, complete monthly account reconciliations and prepare associated schedules and reports for management. Reconciliations include Cash, Accounts Receivable, and A/R Reserve. Reconcile cash account at least weekly.
• Upload approved invoices to client invoicing portals.
• Process electronic check deposit and credit card payments daily.
• Monitor the application of all cash and credit card payments; ensuring client payments are processed within 24 hours of receipt.
• Review weekly aging reports by Account Executive; follow up with clients on aged balances to ensure timely collection. Establish appropriate reserve balances when needed and provide management with an analysis of aged balances and potential collection issues.
• Prepare and distribute weekly KPI reporting on Aged A/R balances and Cash Burn Rate.
• Ensure all business process documentation is complete and accurate to support the billing processes.
• Serve as a backup to Accounts Payable and Senior Accountant - Billing.
• Set and achieve KPI goals such as DSO & A/R Aging and productivity goals.
• Assist with annual compliance requirements such as WBENC / WOSB renewal and Tier 2 Diversity reporting.

Requirements

• A flexible working style and the ability to work independently and with teams to meet client and project needs.
• Financial/Billing software experience required; NetSuite experience preferred.
• Account reconciliation experience required.
• This position requires, access to “Client-Sensitive” data, PHI/ePHI access or authorization. Mandatory security training as well as background/drug screen/credit check will be implemented along with annual reviews as required for HiTrust certification.

Preferred Education/Training and Systems

• An Accounting or Finance Degree with at least 2 years of accounting experience in a high-volume organization.
• Expert experience with Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and the Internet required.
