Hourly Rate: 17.39

Position Summary:

Sea Mar Community Health Centers Child Development Facility is seeking a Bilingual in English and Spanish applicant to fill the Family Services Specialist position for the Child Development Center located in Seattle. Must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or possess a COVID vaccine exemption.

The Family Services Specialist is responsible for the overall enrollment of ECEAP children, including, determining eligibility for the program. The Family Services Specialist also provides administrative support and receptionist duties as needed. The person in this position must have a willingness to accept supervision and maintain positive relationships with children, co-workers, and parents. Must have the ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from families either via correspondence or thru the telephone. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide general information about the ECEAP program to families inquiring by phone or in person. This may include answering the phone, providing written materials, or giving tours in person.
  • Identification of eligible families based on information received prior to start of program year and ongoing as needed.
  • Enrollment of children into the appropriate program
  • Enroll all children into ELMS as enrollment occurs
  • Provide referrals to families as needed
  • Keep ongoing waiting list for program
  • Keep classroom daily sign-in sheets updated
  • Collaborate with Director in setting up a system for parent involvement.
  • Insure ECEAP children receive dental and health exams and follow-ups.

Education and/or Qualifications:

  • Experience with and knowledge of Microsoft Office: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Must have excellent presentation skills.
  • Must be able to navigate the Web and Research subjects.
  • Must be able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
  • Excellent verbal and written abilities and be able communicate effectively with staff, families and other members of the community.
  • Current WA State Driver’s license.
  • Must have and maintain current CPR certification and Food Handler’s permit.
  • Must be able to read and write English and Spanish.
