Scismic is Hiring a Director, Human Resources Near Brooklyn, NY
Scismic is supporting the growth of a clinical-stage company that develops revolutionary tissue engineered products for skeletal repair, and is offering the chance to work with an early-stage company to support the clinical translation of innovative regenerative stem cell therapies. We are seeking an experienced Office Assistant to ensure day-to-day maintenance in the office by supporting the administrative needs of the staff.
The Director of Human Resources will be responsible for executing our people initiatives across the full employee lifecycle, training/coaching for people managers, driving Human Resources (HR) functional excellence and continuous improvement around engagement, sourcing/recruitment, onboarding and development planning, performance management, etc. that meets the company’s objectives.
\nEssential Functions & Responsibilities
- Oversee all HR, recruiting, and staff operations function of the company.
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy and in partnership with the Senior Leadership Team.
- Support end-to-end hiring processes, including attracting, sourcing, and screening top talent, making recommendations to hiring managers, and negotiating offers.
- Bridge management and employee relations by addressing grievances or other issues.
- Regularly handle complex HR matters, serving as an advisor to Senior Leadership Team.
- Oversee and manage a performance appraisal system.
- Monitor industry compensation trends and make recommendations to the Senior Leadership Team.
- Partner with senior leaders to understand priorities and connect them to hiring plans and team member development.
- Oversee the management and administration of the company’s Payroll and Benefits packages.
- Serve as point person to company’s third-party PEO platform, external HR related consultants, and outsourced recruiting and legal consultants.
- Develop and lead the company’s internal HR team.
- 8 years Human Resource generalist/business partner experience.
- Excellent time-management, project management, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and efficient.
- Team-oriented with a willingness to contribute where/as needed.
- Experience at a healthcare, biotech, life sciences organization, or academic institution a plus.
- Human Resources professional certifications (PHR/SPHR, CHRP, or similar programs) are a plus.
- Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- No relocation assistance is provided for this position.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs. or more on a regular basis.
- Full-time; Non-exempt.
- $110k - $160k/Year
