Science 37 is Hiring a Remote Product Designer

This is a fully Remote and Work From Home (WFH) opportunity within the US

Science 37 seeks an exceptional Product Designer to help us innovate clinical studies. The ideal designer will have a passion for tackling problems and designing elegant solutions that help people. You will be tasked with creative problem-solving that addresses the needs of clinical study participants and practitioners.

Our task is to create wholly new solutions in a very regulated industry. Our organization is very knowledgeable in the clinical trial space but some are newer to working with design. Therefore, patient collaboration skills are essential. Our Product Designers participate in the full life-cycle of systems and applications by working collaboratively with other Designers, Product Managers, Software Engineers, and business stakeholders. It’s important that you excel at synthesizing input from a variety of internal and external sources. To be successful, you will need to be skilled in defining and visualizing system processes, user journeys, intuitive interactions, and UX prototypes, and you will need to test your assumptions through ongoing user research.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties include but are not limited to:

  1. Interaction Design – Define solutions and requirements via user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences. 
  2. Design Thinking – Leverage user-centric design practices that focus on people’s needs, goals, and limitations through all stages from problem definition to design implementation. 
  3. Design Facilitation – Facilitate design discovery by organizing research initiatives, participating in ideation, testing prototypes, and providing valuable synthesis and recommendations.
  4. User Research – Form a deep understanding of Science 37 customers, users, and served populations by conducting user research, performing usability tests, reviewing user analytics, and synthesizing data. As directed, be ready to test assumptions in order to defend your design decisions. 
  5. Cross-functional Collaboration Be open and collaborative with product managers and software engineering to build and ship quality features and desired outcomes for users.
  6. Design Systems - Utilize and positively contribute to our growing design system with elegant interaction components, data visualizations, visual design, and illustrations.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Qualification Must Haves:

  1. 2-5 years experience as a product designer or similar role, with primary experience in UX design across online and mobile products 
  2. BA/BS in a relevant field of study OR equivalent work experience 
  3. Portfolio OR ability to walk us through your recent work to showcase your user-centered design skills including; visualizations of complex user experiences, how you learned about users and leveraged that knowledge to create a great experience for them, sketches to high-fidelity mocks, and clickable prototypes.
  4. Experience participating in user-centered design processes 
  5. Experience with UX design software such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
  6. Knowledge of modern front-end systems including web and/or mobile software development

  1. User-Centric Design – Solid understanding of user-centered design thinking and planning. Talent for understanding user challenges and designing complete user experiences that meet both user and business goals 
  2. Strong communication skills – Clear communication with both technical and non-technical individuals; the ability to listen, articulate ideas and advocate best practices in both one-on-one and group settings through good verbal, visual, and written form
  3. Diligence – Ability to design software in an iterative way while making demonstrable, incremental progress towards goals
  4. Growth Mindset – Desire to grow and history of seeking out guidance to develop design skills and improve your practice

Position reports to the Design Mgr Platform who will also assign projects, and provide general direction and guidance.
