Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories is Hiring a Software Engineer Near Boise, ID

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a creative and talented Software Engineer who is passionate about solving problems and improving peoples’ lives. SEL develops critical products that provide the main interface for protecting, controlling, monitoring & analyzing the power grid. Our team supports the development of software and firmware products by building continuous integration and continuous deployment infrastructure, and teaching best practice to developers around SEL. We select and craft tools that make tests and builds streamlined and efficient, which provides a better quality of life for our development teams. This role is DevOps focused and involves creating secure and CI/CD infrastructure through a combination of off-the-shelf and custom-built tools, and defining best practice for development teams. The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about creating high quality software that provides value to its users and finds joy in inventing creative solutions. They also seek opportunities to expand their skills and experiences and teach others. As a Software Engineer, a typical day might include the following: Collaborating on the specification, design, implementation, deployment, and testing of development ecosystems. Recommending and implementing processes following industry best practices for developing, testing, and deploying software. Serving as a technical contact for internal customers. In this job you will learn: Cybersecurity best practice vSphere, Docker, Kubernetes, and related technologies Jenkins, Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence Development tools for various languages, such as C , C#, Go, JS/TS, React, etc. This job might be for you if: You have a BA/BS degree in Computer Science, CS, or a related field. You have 2 years of software engineering, or equivalent experience. You can learn new skills and assume new responsibilities. You enjoy collaboration in a team environment. Locations: Boise, ID- This position is located in Boise, ID, capital of the gem state, and on the Boise River in the southwestern part of the state.
