POSITIONSUMMARY:

This position manages the marketingand communications for the School of Nursing (SON) and is responsible for thestrategic development and implementation of an integrated marketingcommunication plan to promote the SON’s undergraduate and graduate programs andto increase the School’s visibility to internal and external constituents. The Director of Marketing supervises onefull-time staff member, the Web and Social Media Manager.

DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develops, implements, andevaluates a comprehensive marketing and communication strategy inclusive of allprograms within the SON, in collaboration with DMC and the SON Office ofRecruitment and Enrollment Management.

Manages the SON Magazine, newsletterand annual report.

Initiates and managesprojects and campaigns (internal and external) and workflow priorities with theSON Director of Admissions and the Nursing Recruiters.

Providesoversight of operational requirements for content review and approval formarketing assets ensuring brand consistency and quality.

Supervises theSON Web Design and Social Media Manager, directing campaigns, recruitmentinitiatives, and web and social media content in alignment with overall SONmarketing strategies.

Develops and implementsmarketing and communication plans to support SON and Duquesne University news,events and conferences.

Develops marketingmaterials, advertisements, and various communications, such as postcards,program flyers, promotional items and recruitment event communications.

Collaborates with DMC in storydevelopment and media requests and collaborates for digital marking campaignsand photography needs.

Assists with onlineprogram marketing initiatives with Boundless Learning including:

video and photography, webinars;printed conference materials; and communications review for branding, accuracyand quality.

Completes other duties asassigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institutionin Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism or Business

5 years of experience in higher education,marketing and communications or other related area

Strong understandingof communication strategies

Very strong writing andediting skills

Experienced projectmanager of multiple concurrent projects; meets deadlines

Experience with digital,web, print, social media marketing

Experience with marketresearch and data analysis

Working knowledge ofAdobe, Photoshop, Campaign Monitor, Canva, SmugMug, and video editing software

Preferredqualifications:

Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is notlimited to, the following:

Ability to implementeffective marketing programs across multiple channels

Creative problem solverwith strong critical thinking skills

Ability to work bothindependently and in a team environment

Ability to managemarketing plans within budget constraints

Proven leadership andinterpersonal communication skills

Able to function within acomplex and highly collaborative administrative structure
