Network Engineer II-Carmel, IN-US-Remote The ideal candidate would be local to the Carmel, IN area, but Allegion is open to a Remote candidate that is open to travel if necessary. What You Will Do: The objective of this position is to provide tier two and above technical infrastructure design, installation, configuration, and support of interconnected LAN, WAN, wireless, and IP telephony as part of the enterprise IT Network Services Team for Allegion. This requires cross-functional engagement with other technical and business areas with blended environment of IT and the business of various levels across a global environment. Position is responsible for troubleshooting network and IPT hardware and software. Responsible for monitoring and maintaining a diverse network for computing and application environment. Responsible for troubleshooting systems and researching, identifying, and providing resolution influencing day to day corporate activities. The position will provide exceptional customer service to business personnel while providing exemplary technical support enterprise-wide. Support of this role includes regular Monday through Friday and off hours support as required from time to time. Support area is global, with primary emphasis on America’s region. Baseline: Actively design with, and provide feedback for, network architects in establishing standards for network devices and associated connectivity. This includes configuring & support of physical and virtual network devices, while maintaining accurate network documentation. Follow and promote defined ITIL procedures, manage spare parts inventory, maintain accurate network diagrams. Proactively monitor and analyze network performance, utilizing enterprise tools, ensuring operational efficiency and maintenance of capacity. Take corrective actions as needed. Network Integrity: Demonstrate and lead tier two and above level for independent troubleshooting and decisive problem solving for recovery of network and IP Telephony functions from failure or degradation, including switching, routing, telephony, and telecom/WAN circuitry with both on premise infrastructure and public cloud where applicable. Adhere to change and incident practices. Perform root cause analysis to eliminate recurring incidents. Provide on-call support as needed regionally and enterprise-wide. Contribute and drive the coordination and collaboration working with 3rd party service providers to accomplish wide area network and global data center service and operational goals. Projects: Analyze user or facility requirements, evaluate options, recommend solutions, and manage the implementation of a network associated system. Take a prominent role in assigned business or IT projects to drive network operational and/or improvements. Provide accurate, reliable status updates to management for network support or projects. Perform other assigned operational duties. What You Need to Succeed: Technical: 5 years of experience in a network technical role with tier 2 and above issue resolution experience. Minimum of 5 years working in manufacturing and office environments. Broad technical IT knowledge and awareness of industry trends. Must have a bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience in Network Operations. Cisco certifications (CCNA, CCNP, etc.) preferred. Experience in route/switch, SD-WAN deployment, operational and support experience in international environment. Understanding of network protocols and internet technologies, including static and dynamic routing protocols (such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) Familiar with cloud networking (Azure, AWS, Google) and internet exchange points preferred. Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices. Primarily knowledge should include layer 2 and 3 switches, wireless access points, wireless controllers, layer one physical connectivity. Broad knowledge should include voice gateways, routers and firewalls. Must have experience developing work standards and evaluating performance. Experience using network diagnostic and monitoring tools. Understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols, including troubleshooting collaboration with security teams. Have working knowledge of best security practices. Working knowledge with voice and telephony systems. Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources. Organizational: 5 years of proven experience in ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a global, fast paced, office and manufacturing environment. 5 years of experience working in cross functional teams with vendors and the ability to work as part of a virtual team. Includes effectively planning work, controlling projects, and reporting progress. Experience working with internal customers to interpret, clarify, and implement network related solutions. Must have professional verbal and written communications skills and effective at communicating technical issues in a non-technical manner, considerate of each customer's focus and priority. Candidate must be a self-motivated problem solver operating with limited supervision to help achieve goals for a global team. Maintains positive, productive customer and team relationships. Willingness to work varying hours as necessary. Some travel may be expected. Organization and coordination skills to schedule equipment installation and replacement as well as maintain equipment inventory. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience. The expected Base Salary Range: $63,000 to $117,300.
