Description
Vice President of Human Resources Overview The Vice President of Human Resources will oversee all Human Resource programs/activities of the Company including, but not limited to, recruiting, onboarding staff, administering benefits programs, compensation and performance management, occupational health and safety, training, and development, establishing and enforcing company policies, developing and promoting positive company culture, and serving as a trusted advisor to senior management.
The ideal candidate for this role should possess a high work ethic, excellent communication skills, expert knowledge of labor regulations and HR practices, strategic thinking abilities, strong organizational skills, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Responsibilities
• Partner with the leadership team to develop and implement an HR strategic plan as a key component of the overall company strategic plan that supports business growth, improves morale and employee retention, enhances safety and wellness, strengthens staff relations, manages job satisfaction, attracts the best recruits, and promotes the organization's values.
• Work closely with management to develop human resource practices that support and enable a client-focused, high-performing culture emphasizing teamwork, honesty, openness, respect, quality, productivity, and results.
• Administer, evaluate, and continuously improve HR programs such as recruiting, benefits administration, training development, performance management, and employee engagement.
• Collaborates with senior leadership to understand the organization’s goals and to strategically plan initiatives/strategies related to staffing, recruiting, training and retention. Ensure assimilation of new hires through a robust onboarding/orientation program. • Primary responsibility for administering all employee benefit programs including medical, dental, and vision. • Develop and continually enhance the company’s performance management process and procedures through effective administration of employee reviews, coaching managers on delivering feedback, and counseling
• Serve as the Company expert owner for all matters regarding regulatory and legal compliance with employment laws, including any related to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Department of Labor, worker compensation, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
• Monitor and ensure the organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; review and modify policies and practices to maintain compliance.
• Maintains knowledge of HR trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
• Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organizations’ human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system. • Develops and implements departmental budget.
• Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.
• Promote a positive and open work environment where employees feel comfortable speaking up about issues. • Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field required. Master’s degree preferred. MSc/MA in human resources will be a plus.
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP is highly preferred.
• 5-7 years of HR management experience at the senior management level in a rapidly growing company.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with a broad array of human resource management responsibilities.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
• Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/responsibilities and balance competing priorities. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Strong interpersonal and excellent oral and written communication skills with a particular focus on listening, counseling, and resolving sensitive and/or emotional issues.
• Must possess strong business acumen with the ability to investigate and analyze information and make sound Capability of developing projected budgets and tracking costs against these budgets.
• Expert stress management skills and the ability to make important decisions under pressure. Remains calm under pressure and resolves problems efficiently and quickly.
• Experienced in mediation and conflict resolution and negotiation processes. • Attentive listener, empathetic, personable.
• Must be available to work in our Corporate office in North Ridgeville, OH at least 4 days a week.
