JOB SUMMARY
The Financial Reporting Analyst is a key member of the finance team who is responsible for generating Scantron’s internal and external reporting packages. This includes working closely with the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis to ensure all reporting systems and reporting hierarchies are up to date at all times.
Key Duties / Responsibilities:
Financial Planning and Analysis, Reporting, and Systems
- Management and administration of the FPA Planning system (Adaptive Insight/Workday) including data loads between Oracle/Adaptive.
- Support the process and creation of financial forecast and plans for all major forecast and planning cycles
- Creation of report templates to support analysis and requirements of management and FPA staff
- Experience with NetSuite ERP system and system’s integration is a plus.
Business Support
- Business Support of the executive and control departments
- Business Support of the Finance and Accounting/HR/Legal/IT departments
Management & External Reporting
- Responsible for producing multiple reporting packages that are used internally and externally
- Prepare reports and analysis of trends in P&L results and business metrics compared to expectations to provide insight into business results
- Provide support to Accounting during the close period to ensure data integrity
- Responsible for monthly consolidated headcount reporting
- Create and maintain reporting hierarchies for financial systems (Oracle, Adaptive Insight, and Hyperion Essbase). Understanding reporting hierarchies is a must!
- Provide supporting schedules for External Reporting (MD&A and Lender Reporting)
- Support Ad hoc report requests from the executive team as well as the internal management team
Education & Knowledge Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Experience / Skills / Abilities Required
- Minimum of three years’ professional experience with financial analysis, budgeting, planning and financial modeling
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and proficiency with company-wide ERP systems (Oracle must), financial planning systems (Adaptive Insight preferred), reporting systems (Hyperion Essbase must)
- Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic environment where accuracy is expected
- Ability to summarize and clearly communicate financial analysis to non-financial business partners
- Competence in dealing with very confidential data and information
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Proactive, future-looking, positive attitude
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of work produced
