We are seeking a Deli Cook And Sandwich Maker to join our dedicated kitchen staff at Market Basket inside The Pentagon!

You will assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of breakfast and lunch deli style meals in our professional kitchen. You will prepare various menu items for breakfast and lunch at our NY style deli station.

You must be able to successfully navigate a government required background check and a vaccination record (or authorized waiver) is required. Punctuality and reliability are essential, a reliable means of transportation required.

Shifts Available

Saturday and Sunday 6am-6pm

Saturday Overnight 6pm-6am

Monday-Friday, 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM, 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM, or 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM

Responsibilities:

• Plan food production to coordinate with meal serving hours
• Memorize, record, and comprehend menu items, abbreviations, plate appearance, and portions
• Follow standard recipes and special diet orders
• Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
• Prepare all served food- Breakfast Sandwiches, Burritos and Omelets, and Traditional Deli Sandwiches at Lunch
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and appliances
• Adhere to production and sanitation requirements in accordance with The Market Basket standard, safety, and sanitation policies.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in cooking, culinary arts, or other related fields- preferably with breakfast short order cook experience, NY Style Deli experience
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work well in teams and alone
