Saval Foodservice is Hiring a Sales Executive (Washington DC) Near Washington, DC

While Saval does big business, the feel of working for Saval is intentionally small. As a Sales Executive for Saval, you'll support our promise to deliver exceptional service to our restaurant and hospitality customers.

Why Saval Foodservice?

At Saval, we believe that we have a responsibility to give back and support our local community through philanthropic initiatives and partnerships with local nonprofits and trade organizations.

In 2020 alone, Saval Foodservice worked to distribute and donate over 15,000 boxes of food goods in partnership with Johns Hopkins.

Our operations team is led by Senior Vice President Gary Peisach, who is a sitting board member of Meals on Wheels of Central Maryland, a non-profit that tackles feeding impoverished and elderly clients in the Baltimore region.

One of our most successful Saval Cares Initiatives is our annual charity golf tournament that has raised over $350,000 for the Children’s Cancer Foundation since its inception over 19 years ago.

We’re a proud allied member of the Restaurant Association of Maryland, the Restaurant Association of Metropolitan Washington, UniPro Buying Group, and the International Association of Foodservice Distributors.

Job Description:

  • Maintain current customer relationships in a team based selling model
  • Develop new business, identify prospective customers by utilizing market intelligence databases as well as business directories, internal leads, as well as leads from current customers
  • Get to know market conditions and share them with your customers. Learn how to sell against competitor items and share that information with prospects and customers
  • Communicate and collect accounts receivable as needed. Be in clear contact with the credit department to collect all balances due based on the customers current credit terms
  • Leverage other resources to assist with penetrating current accounts. Utilize brokers for samplings and product cuttings to help assist in growing sales.

Requirements:

  • B2B sales experience or culinary/restaurant management experience preferred.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to think and react quickly.
  • Problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • A “think outside the box” mentality.
  • Active Driver's License.
  • HS Diploma or equivalent.
