Pay Range: $22.00 to $25.00 per hour These are just a few of the benefits you can expect from working with SavageA culture that appreciates our Team MembersWe provide Uniforms & PPE (laundering included)$160/year steel toe boot allowancePaid HolidaysProfit SharingExcellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with matchHere is what you will be doingDaily unloading of materials consisting of a variety of bulk liquid and dry products, including hazardous materialsFollow operating procedures and policiesOperate rail car loading systems and equipmentAbility to perform work safely and productivelyCross-trained on all functions at facilityEnforces safety policies and procedures with other employees and visitorsAbility to perform general maintenance on equipmentAssist with other duties within the facility (general maintenance, landscape upkeep and painting)Interact with customers, railroad crews, other Team Members and visitorsUnderstands customer needs Requirements of a successful Transload OperatorRead, write, and understand EnglishBasic math skillsComputer skills (light data entry)Valid Driver's LicenseCapable to learn how to operate and maintain rail car/trans loading equipment (e.g., Hoses, portable conveyors, transfer pumps, portable stair systems, small to medium sized equipment, etc.)Ability and willingness to travel to other transload terminals to assist when necessary; may be for up to a week at a time High School Diploma or GED equivalent Savage is a military friendly company - Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plusHere are some of the physical requirements for this rolePhysically able to climb up and down rail cars/ladders safelyWilling to receive general safety trainingAbility to work outside in ALL weather conditions (snow, rain, sub-freezing temps)Willing to work with liquid hazardous and dry bulk materialsCan carry at least fifty (50) poundsIn good physical condition (able to walk one (1) to two (2) miles per shift)
