About the job

As a Sr Software Developer in the SAS Intelligent Decisioning R&D organization, you will join a team of talented engineers working collaboratively to ideate and deliver leading edge, innovative products and solutions that enable SAS customers to deploy analytics with business rules in new ways. You will contribute to projects spanning a diverse set of technologies and industries. 

We are looking for a Sr Software Developer who wants work on our next generation of SAS Intelligent Decisioning deployed exclusively to the Azure as a Software as a Service offering. In this role, you will have the opportunity to both apply your existing Cloud development knowledge and learn new API’s and integrations in Azure to help deploy world class analytics to a broad new market for SAS. You will have an opportunity to work in Java and/or Go microservices with a React UI, enhancing our existing product to meet new requirements and create new services to meet demands of cloud integration and operation. 

As a Sr Software Developer, you will:

• Develop software with browser-based technologies and REST services using cloud native services and SAS’s internal API’s
• Design and develop high quality, testable and scalable software solutions within established timelines.
• Actively involve other project stakeholders (e.g., managers, developers, user interface and visual designers, product managers, partners) to ensure implementation satisfies functional requirements and is consistent with established R&D standards.
• Participate in project scoping and scheduling; track progress of individual tasks and alerts stakeholders of issues blocking or preventing completion of task
• Ensure the quality of the code you write through the development of automated tests (unit, performance, user interface).
• Conduct code reviews to ensure integrity and cross-product consistency.
• Maintain accountability for the entire life cycle of the code including support for both internal and external consumers.
• In collaboration with technical writers, authors appropriate level of design and technical documentation that satisfies both internal and external consumers.
• Work with multiple operating systems and anticipate technical anomalies and enhancements for various environments
• Perform testing of software; verifies, tracks, and fixes "bugs"; modifies software design, as necessary.

Required qualifications

• You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related quantitative field
• You have 8 years of experience in Software Development
• You have 2 years experience developing and maintaining Software as a Service solutions
• You have experience contributing at multiple levels of the software stack throughout your career with languages like JavaScript, Java or GO.
• You have experience with cloud architectures and at least one major public cloud provider. Preferably Azure.
• You have experience with Continuous Integration and Delivery tools such as Git/Gerrit/Jenkins, Github, Gitlab, or similar
• You have experience with building and orchestrating containers using technologies such as docker and Kubernetes
• You have experience with both Windows and Linux.
• You have experience with agile software development.

Preferred qualifications

• You have experience integrating with Microsoft Entra ID / Azure Active Directory
• You have experience integrating with Azure Data Lake API’s
• You have experience with Microsoft’s Power Platform API’s (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate)
• You have experience with developing C# applications
• You have experience with writing SQL and one or more major RDBMS such as Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres or Oracle
• You have experience creating React components and modifying existing React web UI’s
