Position Summary

The Sales Development Representative works directly with the Sales team in order to deliver qualified sales meetings for our Sales representatives to ensure we Keep the Promise for every client at Sapper. Delivering on the Client Promise is our top priority for each client that interacts with Sapper, and the SDR’s role is integral in our ability to achieve that promise. The SDR is primarily responsible for scheduling qualified sales meetings specifically for our sales reps. The SDR connects with sales prospects in the following ways: phone, email, and social media. The SDR will primarily schedule prospect meetings for Sapper’s sales reps over the phone, but may also use email and social media tactics. The leads that the SDR engages with on a daily basis may be “warm” (previously reached out to through another lead generation platform at Sapper such as LinkedIn or Email) or “cold” (not previously reached out to, but within the client’s target market). By engaging both warm and cold leads and scheduling qualified sales meetings for the client, the SDR delivers on the Client Promise.

Essential Job Functions

  • Engage prospective prospects by phone with 40-100 calls per day, which may be supplemented by email, LinkedIn, or other social media outreach efforts depending on the meeting requirements
  • Qualify inbound and outbound leads and schedule meetings for assigned clients
  • Gain business knowledge through researching how different businesses operate, leadership structures, what their pain points are, and challenges they face everyday
  • Partner closely with sales to ensure proper handoffs
  • Hit your monthly targets for meetings scheduled created from your outreach efforts
  • Schedule all meetings through SapperSuite and/or HubSpot
  • Accurately log activities and keep contact information up to date in HubSpot
  • Learn our technology stack (Outreach.io, Hubspot, Asana,, and more) to become more efficient and effective at your job
  • Provide feedback to the targeting team regarding referrals, incorrect contact information, competitors, etc.
  • Learn our technology stack to become more efficient and effective at your job
  • Timely, efficient and thorough completion of designated tasks
  • Remain open to criticism
  • Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Personable and outgoing
  • Self-starter, results-oriented
  • Proficiency with a wide variety of technologies including Microsoft Excel, web-based platforms, Hubspot and Google Apps
  • Comfortable learning and working with new technology and software
  • Must be able to hold self responsible for organization, timeliness, and focus on detail
  • Able to communicate in an open, friendly, timely, and eloquent manner
  • Work cooperatively with others
  • Interested in working with a quickly evolving and growing company
  • Comfort with a casual but fast-paced work environment
  • Sales experience is preferred, but not required
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and instructions for management

Required Education and Experience

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Undergraduate Degree from an accredited institution strongly preferred.

Physical, Mental, and Environmental Demands

  • Must be capable of working in an office-based, collaborative environment to achieve business and departmental objectives.
  • Must be comfortable in a position which requires working exclusively on a computer for the majority of the day
  • Must be capable of maintaining mental focus, attentiveness to fine detail, and workflow process for long periods of time
  • Must be prepared to have critical conversations with clients in a daily basis
