Job Title: School Psychologist

Based at:St. Mary's County, Maryland.

Job Summary:

Sanford Federal, Inc. is currently seeking a contracted School Psychologist to provide in‐person services at one or more schools within St. Mary’s County. in St. Mary's County, Maryland, and perform his duties in such an effective manner.

Duties:

• Administers psychological tests and analyzes the results of psychological evaluation in regard to its significance to the educational setting.

• Prepares reports outlining identified educational concerns, diagnostic evaluation, and recommended remedial measures for identified educational concerns.

• Participates as a member of the Pupil Services/504 Teams (PST/504), and Individualized Education Program (IEP) Teams.

• Provides direct mental health services to include psychosocial assessments and individual/family therapy/group counseling to assigned students.

• Conducts classroom observations as needed to assess problematic behaviors and other areas of concern.

• Maintains and adheres to COMAR and HIPAA regulations regarding documentation and educational records, as well as the NASP Ethics Principles and Code of Conduct.

Requirements:

- Certified or eligible for a certificate as a School Psychologist as required by the Maryland State Department of Education.

- Knowledge of the principles and practices of psychological diagnosis and counseling as applied to children and the school situation.

- Knowledge of school system organization and operation.

- Ability to communicate effectively and to gain the confidence and cooperation of students, parents and school staff.

- Ability to administer and interpret psychological tests, formulate diagnoses, and generate educational interventions.

- Ability to relate well to students, colleagues, parents, and community members and Ability to work cooperatively in groups.

- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for use in traveling between school sites

- Positive employment references.

- Ability to receive the following clearances upon hire:

i. State of Maryland Child Abuse Clearance (upon hire, before working with students, and every year thereafter).

ii. State of Maryland Criminal Background Check (upon hire, before working with students, and every year thereafter).

iii. Federal Bureau of Investigation clearance.
