Position: Clinical Program Director

Location: Chantilly, Virginia

Reports to: Regional Clinical Director

Work Environment: Medical Detox / RTC Facility 

Position Overview:

The Clinical Program Director is responsible for the administration and oversight of the Program, including the supervision of the in-patient/residential program. The Clinical Program Director is responsible for the supervision of counseling staff, ensuring that all clinical and related administrative policies and procedures are fully implemented and followed, participating in the recruitment and hiring of clinical treatment staff, ensuring that staff meet all professional requirements and are practicing within those requirements and related guidelines, managing the peer review process and utilizing it to improve clinical practices, and provide direct services to clients.

Sandstone Care is now hiring for a Clinical Program director for our NEW medical detox facility in Chantilly Virginia! Our program is a medical detox and residential treatment center. We serve clients who are struggling with drugs or alcohol and co-occurring disorders including anxiety or depression. Our medical detox and residential treatment program is led by a highly credentialed team of doctors, nurses, psychologists, and licensed therapists. We provide 24/7 medical care and supervision to individuals who are detoxing from drugs and alcohol, as well as therapeutic services including individual therapygroup therapy, medication management, and a robust discharge planning program.

Training & Experience:

  • LPC or LCSW License is Required - Must be licensed in Virginia or eligible to transfer and existing license to Virginia
  • Previous experience with substance abuse treatment is required; preferred experience with a treatment facility in the detox, residential, partial hospitalization (“PHP”), and/or intensive outpatient (“IOP) setting
  • Ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience and supervisory experience.

Other Duties & Responsibilities of the Position

  • PROSPECTIVE EMPLOYEES MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19
  • Contribute to a high-performing culture, focused on partnering with clients as we inspire and empower change
  • Assist the Clinical Director in the design, implementation, and management of the clinical, running therapy sessions where necessary, employing evidence-based treatment modalities for clients with substance abuse and clients struggling with a dual diagnosis (if applicable)
  • Adhere to all aspects of the programs policies and procedures to ensure quality performance and assist the Performance Improvement Committee in any quality improvements that may be necessary
  • Manages the day-to-day clinical operations through consistent communication with staff that is supportive of staff roles and responsibilities
  • Support the family programming including communication with families and supporting the onsite family program aspects
  • Educates and trains staff in all accreditation, Federal and State regulations, billing codes, and the required appropriate documentation resulting in proper insurance reimbursement for services rendered
  • Provides individual supervision of clinical staff that includes individualized performance improvement goals based on counselor performance and needs, documenting supervision via case consultation when involving client care directly in the clients electronic health/medical record, and in the employees supervision file when appropriate
  • Supports group case discussions with clinical staff to improve client outcomes
  • Provides required orientation and training, upon hire, for counselors, therapists, and support staff
  • Supervise and conduct client utilization reviews and medical necessity discussions with insurance payers
  • Supervise clinical team in the execution of their job descriptions and conduct annual performance evaluations
  • Provides supervision to counseling and therapy staff in a manner that ensures assessments, treatment plans, progress reporting, and transition planning is conducted according to clinical and accreditation standards
  • Document and maintain accurate and current client records in electronic healthcare software system
  • Complete intake assessments and other required documentation upon admission
  • Resource for Addiction Techs in performance of job duties related to client care
  • Identify emerging situation and respond appropriately
  • Understands and consistently employs behavioral management techniques, applies techniques for the prevention of therapeutic holding procedures, monitoring for sharps and contraband to ensure safe, environment
  • Familiar with basic safety and rescue procedures relative to outdoor activities and while at the facility
  • Attends to other duties as assigned and assures that proper food handling techniques are followed
  • Leads team meetings discussing progress, regress and/or failure; contribute to planning for the program completion, follow-up support and communication with the treatment program
  • Conduct client reviews and current status with the clients treatment program
  • Support recruitment of competent and trained staff
