NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs. If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date. Salary Range $116,600 - $229,500 *Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential. We are seeking experienced Software Project Leads (S&E, R&D Computer Science) to architect high consequence national security capabilities supporting several US government customers. Your work will have a direct impact to our war-fighters by maintaining national security and generating tangible results that will continually reinforce your commitment to the team and cultivate your creativity. On any given day, you may be called on to: * Engage with customers for existing and future program development. * Lead diverse design teams to support multiple programs. * Lead the team's effort in developing software system architecture, software system implementation, technical documentation, unit and integration testing, reliability and performance assessment, and/or systematic technology insertion. * Partner with Software Engineers, System Engineers, and management to implement solutions to customer needs. * Architect software systems, develop code and unit tests, and develop software tools and infrastructure to support the software development team. * Develop and pursue partnerships with internal and external technical specialists in information technology, software, and communications to build creative technical designs to meet requirements and the needs of our end users. Qualifications We Require * Bachelor's degree plus 8 years of related experience, or Master's degree in a technical field (e.g. electrical, computer, embedded or software engineering related fields) plus 4 or more years of related experience; or equivalent education and engineering or scientific experience * Proven experience leading technical teams * Proven experience with Java or Typescript * Ability to travel up to 25% of the time * Active DOE Q security clearance Qualifications We Desire * Demonstrated effectiveness in building relationships at all levels of the organization * Experience in defining opportunities and delivering results when incomplete or ambiguous information is provided through all phases of the product lifecycle * Ability to apply effective interpersonal and communication skills working with internal and external customers * Ability to perform in a highly collaborative and teaming environment with senior management and executive leadership and peers * Ability to work independently as well as work well in multi-disciplinary team environment to build consensus and resolve issues * Self-motivated, positive individual comfortable working in a constantly evolving environment * Demonstrated experience with Agile Scrum or other methodology About Our Team The Special Programs II Department (08773) has been described as stimulating, impactful, and demanding. Security Clearance Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD).
