We are entering our busy season and looking for a Grounds Maintenance Assistant to join our team at Sand Hills Resort!

All positions are for part-time seasonal work. Applicants must have a flexible schedule with the ability to work weekends and holidays.

A successful candidate for our Grounds Maintenance Assistant position will have the important task of helping us maintain a clean, safe environment for all guests of the resort. This individual will provide exceptional service to our guests and help ensure their stay with us is an enjoyable experience from start to finish.

A strong focus on customer service and extraordinary attention to detail is a must. You must be organized, be able to prioritize tasks and be comfortable talking to guests.

Previous yard or property maintenance experience is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person who is friendly, customer service oriented, willing to work hard, learn new skills and wants to work in a fun atmosphere.

JOB DUTIES:

• Greet all guests in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Provide our guests with an exceptional experience so they will look forward to coming back again and again!
• Must have excellent communication skills.
• Learn, effectively communicate, and help enforce resort rules and policies.
• Provide guests with accurate information about the resort’s amenities and other local attractions they might enjoy during their stay.
• Perform campsite inspections at guest arrival and departure.
• Report any resort property damage to the Camp Host or Store Manager immediately.
• Monitor campsites for timely departures and report any late departures to the Camp Host or Store Manager.
• Clean and prepare campsites for the next guest’s arrival including mowing, trimming, blowing, sweeping, raking, hose off mud, removing tree branches as needed, cleaning firepits and picnic tables, and watering the lawn.
• Stock firewood cage daily.
• Maintain cleanliness in and around the resort property including cleaning bathrooms, showers, and laundry room.
• Monitor and empty resort trash bins to prevent overflow of trash.
• Assist Camp Host with various property maintenance or repair needs including lawn care, picking up trash and tree debris, keeping common areas and walkways clean, irrigation or water lines, etc.
• Must always be safety and security conscious and report any accidents or incidents to the Store Manager or Camp Host immediately.
• Report to work on time, neatly groomed, and dressed appropriately for the workplace.
• Demonstrate excellent organizational skills, superb attention to details and the ability to effectively prioritize tasks to ensure our guest’s needs are met, while maintaining a smooth workflow.
• Be flexible in the type of work done and hours worked based on the needs of guests, other team members and the resort in general.
• Be a self-starter and willing to do things simply because they need to be done.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently, collaborate as a team and bring new ideas to the resort.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum 16 years of age.
• Prior yard or property maintenance experience preferred, but not required.
• Neat appearance, positive attitude, and willingness to learn.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be able to sit occasionally and stand or walk for long periods at a time; squat, bend, and twist; use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel or crouch; talk and hear.
• Must be able to frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Environmental conditions include exposure to heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, sand, allergens, and fumes or odors from gasoline and cleaning chemicals.
• Weekend and holiday availability is required.

Sand Hills Resort is located 13 miles north of downtown Rexburg, Idaho with direct access to the St. Anthony sand dunes. We have 109 campsites with accommodation for guests with tents or small campers, and large motorhomes with trailers. Most campsites offer water, electric and sewer hook ups. Many sites also have concrete pads, fire rings and picnic tables.
