SAN RAFAEL CITY SCHOOLS is Hiring a Mental Health Associate Near San Rafael, CA

Mental Health Therapists needed! (San Rafael)

Employment type: Part time

POSITION

The School-Based Mental Health Associate will provide individual and group counseling to adolescent students, at either Terra Linda, San Rafael, or Madrone High School. Collateral contact with families, school staff, or other community providers will also be required. Some of the students may have learning, behavioral, and emotional disabilities. Prevention work and outreach within the school community is also a part of this position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide individual and group therapy to referred students, on the school campus

Interact and collaborate with the students' guardians and appropriate school staff

Maintain required written documentation (intakes, treatment plans, notes) in a timely manner

Refer students out as necessary for adjunctive services

Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other school staff in support of the students' welfare

Maintain confidentiality, while understanding and adhering to the limitations of confidentiality (i.e. mandated reporting, danger to self/others)

Remain current on the recent laws and ethical codes regarding providing counseling services to minors

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Current registration with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate MSW or an Associate MFT. Bilingual (Spanish) skills highly preferred. Must pass a criminal background check/fingerprint screen and TB test. License/Certification:

  • Registered Marriage & Family Therapy Associate, Registered Associate Social Worker, or Registered Associate Professional Clinical Counselors preferred
  • Trainees may be considered

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS

The AMFT/ASW intern has the ability to:

Work as a member of a students' support team

Demonstrate knowledge of the theory and practice of psychotherapy

Utilize clinical skills needed to provide therapeutic services to a range of clients

Provide consistent and reliable therapeutic services

Interacts professionally with other disciplines, school staff, and within the community. Communicates clearly, both verbally and in writing

Documents provided services in effectively, consistently, and in a timely manner

Establishes and maintains rapport as well as appropriate boundaries with students and other members of the students' support team

BENEFITS

Weekly group and individual supervision towards licensure is provided

Job Types: Part-time, Internship

Pay: $3,600.00 per month

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Monday to Friday
