SUMMARY

The Clinical Supervisor provides leadership and clinical supervision to the clinical team in the areas of quality assurance, crisis intervention, and supervision of professional therapists and clinical interns. This position provides direct therapy to a small caseload of students, plus parent counseling, and classroom-based group therapy. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide consultation and direction for individual treatment, counseling groups, family therapy, and parent and child education groups, if applicable.
  • Provide weekly, clinically appropriate, individual and group supervision to license eligible therapists and trainees.
  • Provide professional development to licensed and pre-licensed therapists.
  • Monitor all required clinical documentation to ensure each case is receiving quality treatment and all documentation follows agency and/or school-based counseling requirements.
  • Will carry approximately 3-5 students on individual caseload dependent on census and number of students on therapist caseloads. Will review these numbers regularly.
  • Obtain and evaluate student data, including test results, psycho-educational assessments, personal histories, school records, teachers' reports, parental information, and probation reports.
  • Provide individual, group, and parent counseling to students and parents/caregivers including psycho-educational and therapy process groups depending on need and as stated in the students Individual Education Plan (IEP) on individual caseload (when appropriate).
  • Assist in developing and implementing new hire orientation and appropriate training for all staff.
  • Assist with clinical screening of referrals and assists team in therapist assignments.
  • Actively participate in meetings when assigned and as back-up when needed (e.g. IEP Meetings, Treatment Team, Child Family Team (CFT) Meetings).
  • Provide crisis intervention and be available to work in the Academy milieu.
  • Facilitate open communication between multidisciplinary clinical and administrative personnel.
  • Collaborate and communicate regularly with the Academy Administrative Team.
  • Provides training and supervision to interns/trainees, as appropriate
  • Attend all weekly/regularly scheduled team meetings.
  • Provides consultation to therapists in the areas of crisis intervention, risk assessment, case conceptualization, and case management.
  • Performs special projects, assignments and other related duties as assigned by Academy Administrative Team.
  • San Diego Center for Children may redeploy staff as needed to ensure operational needs are met for the safety of our organization, youth and staff. For the purpose of responding to the COVID-19 pandemic, SDCC may be required to modify work schedules, job duties/functions or assignments as needed with minimal to no notice.

Qualifications


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master's degree from an accredited university
  • Minimum two years as a licensed clinician in social work (LCSW), psychology (Ph.D./Psy. D.), marriage and family therapy (MFT), or counseling (LPCC)
  • Valid California Driver's License (CDL)
  • Minimum 2 years related school-based clinical experience
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to work effectively in a therapeutic setting
  • Maintains efficient organization systems

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years related school-based clinical experience
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish preferred)
  • Experience working with students with ASD, trauma, emotional disturbance
  • Ability to collaborate with teams regarding student outcomes and treatment plans
