Job Title: Sales Associate

Department: Museum Store

Reports To: Manager of Retail Operations

Status: Part-Time, 16-24 hours a week

Sales Associate Duties

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

· Greets customer and ascertains make, type and quality of merchandise desired

· Suggests selections that meet customer’s needs, and emphasizes selling points of article, such as quality and utility

· Processes sales transactions

· Create a positive experience for museum guests

· Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with any questions they might have related to the museum, or San Antonio

OPERATIONS:

· Opens and closes store in a timely and efficient manner

· Audits cash drawers, resolves errors and discrepancies

· Ensures POS equipment is properly working and notify the manager and/ or the assistant manager if problems arise

· Keeps the register area clean and organized

· Ensures that fixtures are dusted, clean and organized.

· Coordinates with managers to create purchase orders based on reordering needs.

· Professionally communicates with vendors to place purchase orders.

· Coordinates with team members to receive shipments in Counterpoint

· Coordinates with Administrative Coordinator to ship online orders in a safe & timely manner.

INVENTORY:

· Restocks inventory and maintains displays according to current promotions

· Keeps informed about new merchandise and products for sale

· Alerts management or Inventory Coordinator of items that are commonly requested by customers that are not currently in stock

· Assists with light stock work and organization

· Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor or manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma, college degree preferred. Cash handling and retail experience (2 years minimum), computer literate, lifting requirement of 25-35 lbs. Must be willing to work evenings and weekends.
