Samaritan Health is Hiring a Physician Recruiter Near Samaritan Medical Center, NY

GENERAL SUMMARY

Responsible for the recruitment of qualified physician candidates for hospital employed and private practice groups affiliated with Samaritan. Development and implementation of specialty specific recruitment plans based on the organizational strategic planning outcomes. Ensure sound knowledge and understanding of the medical community, the culture of northern New York and geographical region. Work with leadership to coordinate an efficient onboarding process for new providers. Develop and support medical staff retention efforts.

Physician Recruitment Job Duties:

  • Assumes responsibility for the sourcing of candidates through physician specific databases and specialty specific organizations.
  • Gathers broad spectrum of data and facts concerning the medical community, the culture of Northern New York, particular parameters of the recruitment assignment and assimilates a potential match.
  • Develops specialty specific opportunity profiles and advertising strategies.
  • Plans marketing initiatives for physician practice opportunities and designs marketing materials for various media.
  • Screens potential candidates utilizing interactive phone interviews with not only the physician candidate, but also the physician’s spouse or significant other.
  • Identifies qualified candidates after analyzing their professional and personal needs and matching those to the needs of Samaritan Medical Center.
  • Serves as an advisor to the private practice recruiting the physician as to the suitability and potential match candidates.
  • Develops comprehensive and organized itineraries as they relates to each specific specialty.
  • Plans site visit itineraries for the candidate and candidate’s family.
  • Serves as a hospital escort for the physician candidate and his/her family.
  • Maintain and manages software and postings for all online advertising.
  • Manage accreditation with the National Health Service Corp for assisting providers with access to education loan repayment.
  • Coordinates the annual physician recognition event and assist with celebration activities for Doctors Day celebrations.
  • Maintains strategic planning informational compilation for the medical staff.
  • Remains a positive ambassador for the North Country.
  • Assists with the development of onboarding timelines for new providers.
  • Supports the functions and duties of the Director of Physician Recruitment and Medical Staff Membership Credentialing.
  • All of the above is planned and orchestrated within guidelines established by the Physician Development Committee and the Strategic Plan, which is approved on a periodic basis by the Board of Trustees for Samaritan Medical Center

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in public relations, marketing, psychology or a business field OR a combination of education and experience
  • Preferred to have two years of relevant experience in healthcare field
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required
  • High degree of honesty, integrity and ability to manage confidential matters
  • Dresses and presents in professional business attire
  • Ability to analyze data and use constructively for planning purposes
  • Ability to take independent initiative and exercise good judgment in decision-making
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under deadline pressures and to simultaneously handle multiple projects
  • Professional maturity that daily sets the tone in carrying out the responsibilities of the position
  • Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to undertake new responsibilities as requested.
  • Ability to flex hours to include requirements for evening and weekend commitments
  • Negotiation skills.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office platforms
  • Driver’s license and use of personal vehicle
