Reporting to the Senior Civil Engineer, Sam Schwartz is seeking a Civil Engineer skilled in design and agency approvals coordination within the greater New York metropolitan area. The selected candidate would work with the Site/Civil Engineering design department in the New York City office. The candidate shall demonstrate an understanding of typical NYC agency review processes including, but not limited to NYCDOT, NYCDOB, NYCDEP and NYC Parks. The candidate shall possess a working knowledge of construction documents and agency approvals documents development and be skilled in utilizing AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities would include:

• Drafting and designing support for roadway design and site engineering design projects. 
• AutoTURN Analysis in AutoCAD, Work Zone Traffic Control (WZTC) plan design. 
• Grading and drainage design, site utilities design, and construction. 
• Support engineering for designs prepared by the Site/Civil Engineering department at Sam Schwartz. 
• Other Responsibilities related to the job.

Qualifications

Special experience in environmental regulations and stormwater management within the greater New York metropolitan area and an understanding of local, State, and Federal review processes and regulatory controls for stormwater management for site development, utilizing modeling software such as StormCAD, HydroCAD, PondPack, or similar design tools would be considered a plus, but not a requirement of the position. 

• Minimum 5-10 years of Experience 
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering 
• I.T. or P.E. License 
• Motivated and willing to learn new skills 
• Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously 
• Ability to travel within the NYC metropolitan area 
• Authorized to work in the U.S.

Sam Schwartz is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range for this position. $70,400 - $105,600 annually.
