Summary: Our Salt Lake City office is seeking an entry level position with an emphasis in groundwater modeling. Modeling assignments will include developing cost-effective solutions for water resources, mining, and environmental contamination projects. The position may require occasional field work, including drilling oversight and environmental sample collection. Excellent written and verbal communication, organization of complex information, and time management is required.
Your Role:
- Conduct groundwater modeling assignments under the supervision of a senior modeler.
- Conduct occasional field work locally or out of state.
- Work collaboratively with a growing multi-disciplinary and high performing team.
- Be open to learning new skills and adapting to new tools provided by Tetra Tech.
- Prepare site maps and figures.
- Prepare reports, tables, figures and other work products to meet the needs of Tetra Tech’s clients and project managers.
- Complete projects to the agreed upon scope, schedule and budget, and with the high-level of quality for which Tetra Tech is known.
- Perform work in a safe manner and participate in the continual development of a safety culture in the company.
- Support business development activities with senior Tetra Tech staff, including client visits and preparing proposals.
Qualifications:
- B.S degree in hydrogeology, geological engineering, or related field.
- 0 to 2 years of professional experience in environmental consulting developing and calibrating groundwater models or at least one undergraduate/graduate level class in groundwater modeling and one modeling project either through the thesis or dissertation process.
- The candidate would ideally have familiarity working with MODFLOW, MODPATH, and MT3D in a Groundwater Vistas environment.
- The candidate must also have knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
- Experience in ArcGIS or Microsoft Access is a plus.
- A Pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.
