Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production, plant facility electrical, automated, and mechanical equipment to maximize plant uptime. Provide assistance in multi-craft maintenance activities.

Duties & Responsibilities (Major):

• Maintain instrumentation and PLC’s on plant equipment. Understand or successfully complete training on basic PLC programming/ladder logic.
• Plan, layout, install and repair a wide variety of complex equipment including automatic/robotic machine and process controls, control centers and panels, relays, circuit breakers, electronic controls and switch gears.
• Attend training to stay current on industry standards; learn programming language as time permits.
• Perform tasks generally associated with electromechanical troubleshooting and repair of plant and facility equipment. May include driving powered equipment.
• Performs prescribed preventive maintenance per schedule. Assist in plant-wide mechanical repairs and fabrication projects as needed.
• Follows all policies and procedures; safety standards and GMP’s.
• Maintain required company records and forms. Report any defective equipment or questionable conditions to the appropriate person/s.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. 
• Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience (Minimum Required):

• Five (5) years successful experience in a modern industrial facility.
• Associate degree, state-recognized apprenticeship/license or a combination of education and work experience. 
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
• Previous experience in food or chemical industry preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Desired): 

• Detailed oriented and self-directed with a customer-service mindset.
• Ability to work independently and as an effective team member; includes accepting supervision and assistance from other team members. Exercise considerable judgment to plan and perform unusual and difficult work where only general methods are available.
• Able to use advanced trades mathematics together with complicated drawings, schematics, specifications involving thorough technical skill knowledge and application of basic theory. Strong PC skills.

Physical Demands (Typical):

• Standing for extended periods.
• Stooping, twisting, bending and kneeling occasionally. Able to lift up to 65 lbs. routinely.
• Close visual work on PC and controls; determine detail, able to distinguish colors.
• Able to wear required PPE.
• Work extended and/or off-shifts and weekends as needed.
• Climb to various levels in the facility using ladders

Work Environment (Typical):

• Plant production areas; including inside and outside the plant; not air conditioned. Uneven walking surfaces. Plant office areas.
• Exposed to electrical discharges, dust, fluids, compressed gases, rotating equipment, hot surfaces, noise, wet floors, loose material on floors and moving lift equipment.
