Sage Infusion is looking for an Insurance Claims Specialist to join a rising healthcare startup. Job duties include following up with insurance companies to provide resolution on unpaid or denied medical claims. This position is a full-time, hourly pay position (40 hrs/week). This will be a remote position and the ideal candidate will have reliable internet connection and a stable work environment with the ability to follow HIPAA guidelines. The pay is $20/hour.

Responsibilities

· Initiate calls with insurance carrier partners and third-party claims administrators on insurance claims via telephone, email, or fax

· Take inbound customer service calls and make outbound calls to patients and Sage providers

· Investigate and follow up on unpaid or rejected insurance claims for assigned carries and work with insurance companies and staff to resolve discrepancies

· Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information

· Provide customer service by responding to patient inquiries

· Maintains a good relationship with insurance companies and Sage staff

· Proficient with all facets of EMR software system

Requirements

• Completed AHCA Florida Background Screening
• Knowledge of medical terminology, patient billing, insurance and reimbursement process, and healthcare insurance policies
• Knowledge of State and Federal billing guidelines
• Able to maintain HIPAA standards
• Understanding of ICD/CPT medical billing codes
• Able to enter and update data in an accurate, timely manner
• Able to work successfully in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
• Demonstrates the ability to prioritize work with minimal oversight to meet outlined goals
• Provide excellent internal and external customer service by ensuring work meets quality standards; sets high goals or standards of performance for self; takes pride in his/her work and completes work on schedule
• Strong computer proficiency and knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
• Significant attention to detail

• Performs other duties as required

Education / Experience

• Required: Associate's degree
• Highly preferred: Medical Billing and Coding Certification
• 1 year experience working with insurance claims
