Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Event Sales Manager to handle all aspects of our daily business including booking, managing, and executing our corporate & social catering events within The Denver Milk Market. The true focus will be passionate individuals, empowered to create “Wow” moments and lasting memories for each guest, every time. The Event Sales Manager is responsible for coordinating, planning, and executing events, meetings, and conferences for clients. This role will entail generating revenue by selling various events within a food hall experience, promoting catering services, and other amenities to potential customers. It is crucial to have excellent communication and organizational skills to manage multiple events simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating, planning, and executing events, meetings, and conferences for clients
  • Generating revenue by selling various event and meeting spaces, catering services, and other amenities to clients
  • Finding new clients, promoting catering services, conducting facility tours, organizing menu tastings, and maintaining a trusting relationship with existing clients
  • Soliciting, negotiating, and booking new/repeat business via outside sales calls, telemarketing, mailings, networking, etc.
  • Having a thorough knowledge of the practices and procedures of the catering, food & beverage, and hospitality professions
  • Having effective communication skills, and the ability to negotiate, influence and sell professionals and/or prospective food and beverage outlet concepts.
  • Update and distribute BEO's to all departments.
  • Work with Culinary team on special menu requests and off-site event orchestration
  • Meet or exceed catering sales goals on a monthly and yearly basis to reach bonus potential
  • Provide an exceptional level of service and acquire the highest quality of catered products for our clients.
  • Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff.
  • Drive sales and generate revenue by selling our exceptional catering services
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing tailored solutions
  • Collaborate with our culinary and event teams to design customized menus and event plans

Qualifications

Education/Formal

Training Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Experience

One year minimum hotel sales or catering experience. Knowledge/Skills 

  • Requires knowledge of general sales techniques. 
  • Yield management experience required. 
  • Requires highly developed customer service skills. Strong follow-up and guest satisfactions skills. 
  • Understand and follow verbal/written instructions.
  • Work on more than one task at a time. 
  • Develop strong internal and customer relationships.
  • Set and manage priorities and plan activities in advance.
  • Solve problems and make sound business decisions.
  • Respond to coaching, feedback and training.
  • Must be detailed oriented.

  • Must have dexterity/mobility to meet clients on and off premises, to tour property and attend functions, to climb stairs, use door keys and operate basic office equipment. 
  • Vision to read fine print and computer screens, to see colors, to observe rooms in poorly lit conditions.
