Overview

The Director of Marketing is a distinctive opportunity to support a dynamic fundraising department while also making a lasting impact for survivors of domestic violence. As a member of the development (fundraising) department you would be responsible for creating and managing overall agency collateral (graphic design), website and social media (account management and content). The Director of Marketing would be responsible for upholding the organizations brand through consistent graphic design, messaging, branding, public relations and community partnership.

Details:

· Responsible for the creation (graphic design) and distribution of all agency collateral, including but not limited to general marketing materials, print and e-newsletters, event materials, and mail appeals, insuring brand standards

· Create and plan event design for all events including: sponsorship packets, invitations, signage and all necessary print collateral with approval from VP of Development

· Manage and build social media accounts and content with intent to educate public, respond to needs, grow relationships and share SafeHaven news

· Manage agency website operations and content, ensuring accurate information and data at all times

· Develop a master collateral plan and calendar to ensure timely creation of all collateral needs and deadlines met – work in tandem with VP of Development to ensure deadlines are congruent with fundraising

· Coordinate and conduct awareness and community activities, i.e., Domestic Violence Awareness Month, North Texas Giving Day, etc.

· Attend and support agency events (fundraising, awareness, and volunteer events, as necessary)

· Procure and utilize cost effective vendors and bids for collateral, including but not limited to website, printing, videos and visual productions

· Plan videos for agency events to correspond with Call to Action; serve as point of contact for production companies

· Coordinate media requests and interviews on behalf of the agency and staff

· Write and distribute press releases as needed, relating to special events, contributions, educational programs, Op-Eds and other agency related business, as appropriate

· Steward mutually beneficial relationships with local media outlets and maintain up-to-date media contacts list

· Utilize online analytics when possible to measure effectiveness

· Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure all collateral needs are met

· Serve as point of contact to request all children’s artwork from Children’s Program – maintain robust folder of artwork to be utilized for donor stewardship and on-going relationship building

· Provide support for event staff on writing event scripts, as needed

· Maintain set of brand standards and guidelines for agency

· In tandem with the Development Department, work to further agency visibility though media, community partners, stakeholders/donors, special events, volunteers, etc.

· Respects the confidentiality of all constituents, clients, etc.

· In accordance with the team philosophy of the agency, will routinely be required to carry out or assist with other tasks in addition to the activities listed above, as assigned by supervisor.

· Must act in accordance with the agency’s mission statement and goals.

Ideal Candidate:

A successful candidate should have a bachelor's degree (bonus if in marketing, communications, PR or journalism), as well as 3 years of related work experience in a professional setting. Proven advanced skills in graphic design, project management and relevant technologies are essential. Experience in digital fundraising also is key, as is the ability to complete multiple tasks on deadline.

The best candidate for this position will be hard working, task oriented and a team player who is willing to work together to meet deadlines/requests.

Work experience in a media, nonprofit, marketing or public relations environment is a plus. This position works frequently with other teams across the organization and must be both a team player and a self-starter. The individual must also be innovative, creative and an accountable problem solver.

Must have a strong command of the following software: Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Creative Suite. The candidate should also have experience with SquareSpace, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Canva and Constant Contact.

This position requires an individual with superior attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.

· 3 - 4 years of experience successful creative design work, preferred

· Bachelor’s degree earned from accredited university

· Ability to utilize design programs to create marketing tools – proficiency in: Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and Canva

· Aptitude for social media platforms – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.

· Proficient in website management and design, Square Space preferred (website)

· Ability to maintain working within a budget – utilize funds strategically

· Excellent written, editing and verbal communication skills with the demonstrated ability to use diplomacy and tact when communicating with all stakeholders

· Dedication, flexibility, attention to detail and creativity is a must

· Must be action-oriented with a positive work ethic and ability to complete tasks and meet goals

· Exceptional ability in setting priorities and planning

· Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines

· Ability and confidence to interact with varied constituencies including media

· Strong technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

· Ability to respond creatively and diplomatically to conflicting priorities

· Personal computer proficiency required, including: Word, Excel and Outlook

· Ability to effectively, consistently and positively work in open concept environment

· Frequent travel locally by personal automobile

· Ability to work flexible schedule including some evenings and weekends

· Sensitivity to the issue of domestic violence

· Work in tandem with development team

· Paid time off (accrual begins on day one, available after 90-day probationary period; eligible for holiday pay immediately upon hire)
