Essential Duties & Responsibilities (includes but is not limited to the following):
- Understand research, evaluation, pedagogical approaches, and implementation strategies in delivering trauma-informed, culturally relevant DV/SA education/training for persons of all ages.
- Identify and create opportunities for improving Advocate Training by researching, developing, and implementing best pedagogical practices to ensure effective, engaging, and meaningful training for all participants.
- Create, maintain, adjust all Advocate Trainings to meet the required curriculum and training standards of our State Funders.
- Remain current with trends in staff-training and continuing education needs and ensure all current agency trainings are up to date with current information and language.
- Conduct attendee surveys and use their feedback to improve future trainings.
- Collaborate with Safe Berks Directors/Leadership Team to ensure delivery of best practices, and most current policies, procedures, and relevant departmental information.
- Network with other State DV/SA programs and other key organizations to remain current on all issues relating to DV/SA and other intersecting issues.
- Maintain a database of all training materials including fact sheets, webinars, trauma-informed language, culturally based best practices, etc.
- Research effective media outreach and curriculum adaptation strategies best suited to meet the needs of the community both in-person and virtually.
- Manage scheduling, registration, participation, and completion of the Safe Berks DV/SA Advocate Training by coordinating monthly sessions for newly hired staff and community members, keeping a detailed record of participant’s information/attendance, preparing reports, and collecting/maintaining all required data.
- On an as needed basis, provide classroom and virtual instruction to school-aged children using the Healthy Relationships Project Curriculum, engage with parents to provide instruction on the Parent portion of the Healthy Relationship Project, and provide education and professional training to teachers, other school employees, and community members on topics related to Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, and the Healthy Relationship Project.
- Assist in planning and facilitating Camp Safe Berks and other special events as requested.
- Provide prompt response to requests for Safe Berks education and informational materials to all sectors of the community.

Requirements
Educational & Experience Requirements:
Employment Experience (amount and kind)
- 1 – 3 years’ experience working in an educational setting, public relations, or human services field(s)
Education (general level required or specific courses)
- Associates degree in Education, Social Work, Gender Studies, or related Human Services subject preferred, but will consider preferred relevant employment experience in lieu of degree.

Other Requirements:
- Completion of a background check request; FBI, State Police, and Child Abuse Clearances obtained within required timeframe under Act 153 through agency vendor
- Completion of 66-hour Sexual and Domestic Violence Training provided by agency
- Valid driver’s license and insurance are required to travel to client sites
