Sacramento Kings is Hiring a Manager, Data Science Near Sacramento, CA

Job Summary: The Sacramento Kings strive to improve and evolve every aspect of the way sports teams do business, and data-driven decision-making serves as the engine behind much of the team’s innovation. The Manager of Data Science position belongs to one of the most sophisticated and forward-thinking business analytics groups in professional sports and will be tasked with harnessing the power of data, applied analytics, and technology to drive results across all business units.

This full-time position is based on-site in Sacramento, CA, and offers a starting salary of $75,000-$80,000. The Sacramento Kings have a hybrid office environment: 3 days in the office, and 2 days remote.

Key Responsibility Areas:

  • Design new and innovative analytical solutions to predict customer behavior and recommend actions to drive desired outcomes involving the following organizational priorities:
  • Fan development and loyalty initiatives
  • Customer retention strategies
  • Identifying new areas of revenue growth
  • Support development and execution of sales and marketing campaigns across channels
  • Manage ongoing business models including member retention, revenue projections and sentiment analysis.
  • Build timely and compelling dashboards and visualizations for key stakeholders via the department’s business intelligence solution.
  • Work closely with data warehouse vendor to ensure data timeliness and accuracy.
  • Manage and lead the development of analysts within the ‘Revenue Analytics’ vertical of the Business Intelligence department.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or other quantitative field.
  • 3 years of experience in an analytics function informing fast-paced business decisions.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL or similar database management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement statistical models in R and/or Python
  • Familiarity with Tableau or other similar data visualization tools
  • Desire to lead and develop other members of the Business Intelligence team.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Ticketmaster’s Archtics & Host ticketing platforms.
