Responsibilities

Sabre Systems, Inc. is currently looking for a Network Engineer to work in Patuxent River, MD supporting the E-6B Program. The selected applicant will have experience installing, configuring, harden, patch, maintaining, and troubleshooting switches and routers. The selected applicant must work in accordance with NAVAIR and DISA policy, and industry best practices.

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

- Configuring network hardware like servers, routers and switches- Troubleshooting network issues- Assisting network architects with the design of network models- Deploying and updating software- Understanding of networking concepts, packet switching, routing, VLANS, etc. ~Strong understanding of the Open Systems Interconnection model (OSI model) ~Strong understanding of layer 2 & layer 3 devices- Cisco ISE or ACS experience- Cisco StealthWatch experience- Cisco ASA and FTD experience - Familiarity with ticketing systems- Familiarity with running and terminating Cat 5/6 cable- Ability to answer NOC phone for trouble calls - Mentor and be mentored by the team- Implementing security measures and basic testing ~DISA STIG/STIG viewer/STIG Checklist experience is a plus ~Tenable Security Center & Nessus (ACAS) experience is a plus

- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) is a plus - Python scripting knowledge is a plus- SQL knowledge is a plus

Qualifications

Requirements:

• A minimum of five (5) years practical technical Network administration experience
• Bachelor’s Degree is desired but not required if the experience level meets the requirements
• DoD 8570(at least CompTIA Security ) current or able to become current within 60 days
• The ability to work independently, as well as working within a team*
• Ability to travel, work late nights, and weekends is necessary
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Candidates must have a current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance

*Ability to travel, work late nights, and weekends is necessary, with the understanding that these will be intermittent. (Travel a few times per year; cover a late flight once a week, a weekend flight once a month)
