Scope of Responsibility: Responsible for developing, interpreting, and implementing accounting concepts and analysis. Serves as a resource for all business areas concerning financial performance and analysis, inventory, and cost analysis.
Position Requirements:
Education: A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
Experience: 3- 5 year’s progressively responsible accounting or finance experience preferably in a manufacturing setting utilizing job cost accounting.
Skills & Abilities: Requires prior knowledge of principles and practices of accounting and finance.
Demonstrated experience in budgets, general ledger, financial analysis, cost accounting, financial modeling, written and verbal presentation experience. Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects concurrently.
Computer skills including Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access) to analyze data and trends.
Essential Duties:
· Responsible for month end closing, producing, and analyzing monthly financial reports.
· Assist Manager/Director with timely, accurate and comprehensive review, and development of monthly gross margin reports and product-line project profitability.
· Analyze period manufacturing costs and prepare monthly reports comparing forecasts/budgets to actual costs.
· Perform risk measurement and analysis functions regarding inventory reserves.
· Coordinate and review monthly job margins to test quality of earnings.
· Test inventory costs
· Interact with the operations team to drive cost and continuous improvement.
· Effectively manage employees related to cycle count program and inventory control.
· Prepare and manage month end capture cost process in the ERP system.
· Inventory control and reconciliation.
· Work with monthly consolidated reporting package with bridges
· Work with supply chain for proper processing of inventory purchases.
· Work with external auditors at year end.
· Reporting and analytics immediately, as requested from management.
· Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
Primary Focus:
· Develop and maintain models/reports supporting management and internal customers.
· Identify, correct, and audit risk areas lacking proper standard controls.
· Recommends cost improvement measures.
· Inventory controls.
· Strong analytical and decision-making skills and the ability to be adaptable and flexible.
· Ability to work with the finance team and multiple departments.
Physical Requirements:
· Demonstrated ability to work with frequent interruptions in workflow and constantly changing priorities.
· Must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods of time with the ability to move throughout the office or outside manufacturing plant as needed.
· Must be able to perform physical activities that require use of fingers, hands, and arms, such as sitting, typing, using office equipment, and reaching. Some additional physical activities may require walking, stooping, bending, twisting, and handling of materials.
· Position requires manual dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and a safety-minded individual.
· Must have the ability to concentrate on tasks for long periods of time and be able to observe and receive information from all relevant sources.
· Position requires work in a plant/manufacturing environment, indoor and outdoor conditions. Environment may include fluctuations in temperature, dust, and noise. Required PPE includes safety glasses, steel-toe metatarsal boots and hearing protection always worn on the production floor in addition to other specific PPE that must be worn for specific tasks.
