Description

Position: Lift Operator

Department:  Gondola/Lift Operations

Hours: Varied

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The overriding and most important function of each and every employee is to either directly (by interacting with the guest) or indirectly (by providing the key support role to the guest experience) strive to provide the finest in friendly service and quality products. 

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient loading, transporting and unloading of guests and employees in accordance with the specific operating instructions of the assigned lift
  • Maintain proper load and unload areas and ramps
  • Communicate correct information to the guests including directions and basic knowledge of other mountain departments
  • Responsible for actively giving friendly and courteous service to the guests at all times 
  • Diplomatically handle sometimes awkward situations that may arise
  • Check the guests' tickets and safety equipment where applicable
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed or may be required to assist in other departments 

Requirements

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Minimum of 18 years of age
  • Must be able to push/pull/lift 60 pounds at 6 to 12 second intervals for up to 10 hours per day
  • Must be able to spend the shift on feet
  • Must be able to maneuver on slippery/snowy surfaces
  • Must be able to frequently use snow shovels, ramp rakes, etc.
  • Must have a good safety record
  • Must be alert and in good physical condition
  • Must be responsible and able to work alone or with a team
  • Must be people oriented Must provide adequate clothing for sometimes extreme climate
  • Must follow all procedures and guidelines as stated in the employee handbook
  • Must be flexible in work schedule
