Bel-Air Manor is a 71-bed, family-owned skilled nursing facility in Newington, Connecticut specializing in short-term rehabilitation and long-term care. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Director of Nursing to join our team!

The Responsibilities of the Director of Nursing include but are not limited to:

•Develop and participate in the planning, conducting, and scheduling of timely in-service training classes that provide instructions on "how to do the job," and ensure a well-educated nursing service department.

•Ensures completion of Reportable Events. Verifies that each is numbered, and interventions taken as required.

•Ensures that policies and procedures are followed for classification and reporting of reportable events.

•updating written policies and procedures for the administration, storage, and control of medications and supplies.

•Participate in regularly scheduled reviews of the Discharge Plans.

•Evaluate and implement recommendations from established committees as they may pertain to nursing services.

•Prepare nursing report for Medical Staff Meeting

•Ensure that medical and nursing care is administered in accordance with the resident's wishes, including the implementation of advance directives.

Requirements:

·Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.

·Must hold an unencumbered license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Connecticut.

·Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years of experience as a supervisor in a long-term care facility, or other related health care facility and one (1) year nursing service administration.

·Be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.

·Be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 40 pounds to a minimum height of 3 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 4 feet.

·Proof of Covid-19 vaccination
