Summary/Objective

RWD Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced Plumber. This position is at the CDC/NIOSH facility, 626 Cochran Mills Road, Pittsburg, PA. Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager & Operations Staff, the Plumber will be working in an environment in which safety, environmental and health concerns may demand constant attention. Strict adherence to corporate and plant policies, rules and regulations in these areas is required. A commitment to carrying out the company's quality policy is required. The Plumber must focus on customers' expectations, prevent problems and strive for continuous improvement resulting in improved results for themselves, customers and other employees.

Essential Job Functions (including but not limited to):  

Plumber -Possess the knowledge and ability to independently install and perform maintenance on piping systems for air, natural and industrial gases, steam and condensate return, water, storm and sanitary sewer lines. Install and repair plumbing fixtures such as sinks, lavatories, water closets, urinals, gas and electric water heaters, water coolers, and pumps. Fabricate piping systems using pipe manufactured from steel, copper, ABS and PVC plastic, poly gas services terra cotta and cast iron soil pipe.
Plan and layout work and select proper materials. Read and interpret plans and specifications. Have a proven history in plumbing/pipefitting skills where the ability to perform the major responsibilities has been demonstrated. Knowledge of and ability to work with hand/power tools. Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding. No physical restrictions that would inhibit individual from lifting to 50 lbs. Certification in backflow prevention (assembly, testing and repair). Snow Removal Services to include utilization of snow removal equipment and or labor efforts.

This position does not have supervisory responsibility

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in the field/location of assignment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This would require the ability to lift to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently required bend or stand as necessary, with considerable amounts of walking carrying small tool for trade and or supply materials.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:45am to 4:15 PM (subject to modification with prior notice)

Required Education and Experience

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in similar role or related field.
• Must have valid driver’s license
• Must possess or be able to obtain a CDC/NIOSH Security Clearance.
• Shall possess the following certifications:
  •  Registration and license from Allegheny County at apprentice/journeyman level

Preferred Education and Experience

• • Journeyman License
