POSITION OVERVIEW

RWC Group is looking for an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to work in our Corporate Accounting Department. The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for numerous areas related to financial analysis and reporting for several of the Company's 15 locations. This position includes tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including accounting schedule reconciliations, monthly financial statement reviews, and year-end audit preparation. The Senior Staff Accountant will report directly to the Accounting Manager and will have continuous communication with senior-level management. The Senior Staff Accountant will be a hands-on individual who will be involved in operational aspects of the business as well as potential for coaching, mentoring, and ensuring the success of our team. This is an on-site role.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Obtain a thorough understanding of the business entities and general ledger structure for financial reporting.
• Assist with month-end close process, balance sheet reconciliations, and review financial statements for accuracy.
• Maintenance of various spreadsheets to support financial transactions and analysis
• Record and manage fixed asset acquisitions, disposition, and depreciation for company assets
• Custodian for pre-paid expenses, including review for completeness and posting of monthly accounting entries
• Leverage technology to continually improve processes, best practices, provide accurate and timely reporting and ensure financial success.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BA/BS in Accounting/Finance/Business or equivalent work experience
• 5 years of professional accounting experience, dealership / trucking industry experience a plus
• Strong understanding of accounting theory, CPA preferred
• Must have strong computer skills, intermediate knowledge of Excel and other Office applications is necessary
• Self-starter with solid organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities or reprioritization of projects
• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
• Work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem-solving and results
• Self-motivated individual contributor that is also a team player
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to perform with minimal direct supervision
• Positive attitude and eagerness to improve processes and procedures
• Previous lease and rental accounting experience and/or history working in a dealership are desirable, but not required
